Coronation Streets Sue Cleaver mortified after STI confusion

Coronation Street's Sue Cleaver was left 'mortified' after an unfortunate slip-up during a visit to a pharmacy.

The 60 year old actress took to Instagram to share a video as she explained that she'd accidentally asked for medicine to help with an STI (sexually transmitted infection) rather than a UTI (urinary tract infection).

In the clip, Sue laughed as she said: "Can’t believe I’m actually sharing this.

"I had to go to the pharmacy and it was busy and there was quite a queue behind me.

"And I went up to the counter and I said: 'Morning love. Have you got anything for an STI? I’m just starting with one."

She continued: "What I meant to say was, 'Have you got anything for UTI? Because I’m just starting one.'."

Sue burst into more giggles as she said: "Oh my god. I don’t know why I said it.

"My hand’s shaking as I’m holding this."

Sue then gave her followers some advice as she said: "Don’t get your letters mixed up when you need some medication!"

She captioned the post: “Can’t quite believe I’ve posted this" with a selection of laughing and face-palm emojis.

"DON’T get your alphabet mixed up… MORTIFIED…"

Sue's followers found her confession hilarious a they rushed to comment.

One person said: "Brilliant," with a laughing and clapping emoji, whilst another commented: "Aw bless you."

Others even shared their own slip-ups, with one mixing up the battery brand Duracell and the condom brand Durex.

Sue's confession came after she recently revealed that she was admitted to intensive care earlier this year.

The former I'm A Celeb star made the revelation during her stint as a guest panelist on Loose Women on Thursday, 31 August.

She was discussing her recent weight loss, as she slammed scammers who have been using her face to sell diet diet gummies.

Sue told her fellow panelists that she's 'had a really bad year' following a hysterectomy in March. Hysterectomy is the partial or total surgical removal of the uterus.

She then said: "And then a few weeks ago, I ended up in A&E – I don't need to go into the details – but it was a scary, scary time.

"I had surgery and I ended up in intensive care."

It's not clear if the surgery was related to her hysterectomy.

Referring back to her weight loss, Sue said: "There is no diet, there are no gummies, and I am incensed that these companies prey on people's vulnerability and use our names."

She went on to say that one lady had "spent £160" on the weight loss gummies that used her face, saying she "felt awful".
