Critically-ill Big Brother star Lauren Harries sends message to Phillip Schofield from hospital

Lauren Harries' mum has shared an update on the star's recovery from brain surgery, telling fans of her message to Phillip Schofield from hospital.

The Celebrity Big Brother star has been in hospital since April with a mystery condition that ended up with her needing emergency brain surgery.

Mum Katy has been keeping fans informed of her 45-year-old daughter's road to recovery and on Tuesday she tweeted from Lauren's account her shock at hearing Phil had left This Morning after 21 years with the ITV show.

Katy said that Lauren was keen to share photos of her happy memories as a guest on This Morning and passed on her support to both Phil and Holly Willoughby, writing: "Lauren is still in hospital and not kept up with the entertainment news so today I told her that Philip had left @thismorning, she was shocked.

"She always loved her time on the show and wishes both of them luck! I know @hollywills will do an amazing job.

"Lauren wanted to share this picture of her last time on This Morning. Love you all xxx."

It's been a tough few weeks for Lauren, who first found fame as a child antiques enthusiast on shows including Wogan and After Dark.

Her mum tweeted on 14 April to ask Lauren's fans to keep her in their thoughts as she recovered from the emergency operation, and she has since shared photos of Lauren in her hospital bed along with updates on her recovery.

On 2 May, Katy tweeted: "Thank you for your prayers & good wishes and cards & flowers! Lauren is still recovering from neurosurgery, & a chest and throat infection. Lauren would also like to thank the NHS Nurses & Doctors. Physiotherapy next, while she is fighting a permanent headache. 'Peace and light'"

She had also asked her daughter's followers for advice after the op, sharing that Lauren was suffering blackouts that left her with one side of her face drooping and asking whether anyone had experienced similar.

Lauren has made a number of appearances on This Morning during Phil and Holly's time as co-hosts.

Phil announced his exit from the show on Saturday, 20 May amid rumours of a falling out with Holly, who he had been close friends with and who is currently on a half term break from TV.

It also came after his brother, Timothy Schofield, was jailed for 12 years over child sex offences.
