Danniella Westbrook has reportedly split from her jailed fiancé just months before he is set to be released from prison.
The former EastEnders star, 49, was set to tie the knot with fiancé David after his release from jail in September, according to reports. Earlier this week the actress was spotted trying on wedding dresses ahead of her expected big day – while she was also snapped getting in shape while on holiday in Antalya, Turkey.
It has been reported that David is serving time in prison but was set to be released just before Danniella’s 50th birthday in autumn. But now reports have suggested the pair have cancelled their wedding and called it quits on their seven-year, on-off relationship all together.
A friend of the star reportedly told The Sun that Danniella had been left “heartbroken” as a result.
They added: “Both Danniella and David have decided to cancel their wedding plans and, it seems, their whole relationship. She has spent nearly seven years travelling all over the country to visit him but it seems the closer he is to coming home, the more the cracks are showing.
“They have both just changed so much since they first got together.”
OK! has contacted Danniella's representatives for comment.
Danniella announced her engagement to David, 29, in April last year after reconciling their relationship while he was behind bars. In May this year, Daniella revealed she was planning to take him away on a romantic trip once he was released.
She took to Instagram to share that she ‘couldn’t wait’ to take him away when they were finally reunited. She added she was planning a trip to the Secret Cabins, a £400 a night luxury destination in the Sussex countryside.
She wrote: "Not long now until I get to pick up my David and go straight away to the Secret Cabins… I may go all out and hire their helicopter too. Seven years away deserves something special for us both."
She added: “And our official engagement will happen here too…it’s been a long time coming, and I just can’t wait to have him back."
Last month Danniella promised to foot the £500,000 NHS bill it will take to have corrective facial surgery after undergoing a traumatic procedure in Turkey.
The former soap star described how she needed a surgical thread lift – a procedure where temporary stitches are used to produce a "lift" in the skin – to stop her face collapsing. She told how she originally planned to get the reconstructive surgery in the UK, but a friend persuaded her to go to Turkey, which led to a horrendous operation carried out without anaesthesia.
"I was doing it in Liverpool with a professor there," she explained to The Sun. "I should have stayed with him but a friend convinced me to go to Turkey."
"It's my own stupid fault," she went on. "I'm going back to him though but I'm gonna pay for it this time. I'd been quoted £500,000 before, I don't care what it is."
