Danny Dyer has shared his joy after becoming a granddad for the second, and third, time, as daughter Dani welcomes baby twins with footballer boyfriend Jarrod Bowen.
Dani, who won Love Island back in 2018, announced the birth of her newborns earlier today on her Instagram as she shared some sweet snaps of the infants, which she captioned: "22.05.23" followed by a heart emoji.
Her father, former EastEnders star Danny, was quick to comment on the snap as he shared his pride at becoming a grandfather-of-three.
He wrote: "Can’t stop smiling" which he followed with a pair of heart emojis.
During his daughter's pregnancy, Danny opened up about the "petrifying" prospect of having three grandchildren all under three.
In an appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, the actor and TV presenter gushed over his growing family: “I’m a grandfather… he’s beautiful, he’s such a lovely little boy. She’s [daughter Dani] pregnant again with twins. Identical girls.
"So I’m going to have three grandkids under three by f***ing May," the blunt quiz show presenter groaned.
As the audience laughed, Danny admitted: “It’s petrifying. I am over the moon. It’s weird when your kid’s pregnant. You worry about them. It’s a miracle the whole thing, especially with twins.”
After announcing she was expecting twins, Dani shared her parents' reaction to the news – with Danny's hilarious response leaving fans in stitches.
During a fan Q+A on Instagram the former Love Islander was asked: "How did your family react when you told them it's twins?"
In response, Dani posted two screenshots of messages with both her mum and dad, who each voiced their shock at the news.
The screenshot shot that Dani has sent a message to her dad, who she affectionately has saved as "Papa Bear" in her phone, telling him: "We are having twins," with a crying laughing and love heart emoji.
Her father replied: "Hold up. Are you f***ing joking me????" as Dani replied: "Dad I can't believe it. "They missed it on the scan. And now it's come up identical twins."
A clearly shocked Danny then said: "WTF. Oh my f***ing god," before Dani said: "Helppppp."
The screenshots to her mum, Joanne, saw the latter reply: "You are lying to me," as Dani said: "I swear they didn't pick it up before."
Her mum went on to reply: "Can I have one?? OMG. WOW," as Dani said: "Mum I can't believe it."
