Denise Van Outen was all smiles as she appeared to brush off ex Eddie Boxshall’s apparent break up jibe with a fun DJ set.
The 49 year old TV presenter and actress got behind the decks for a private function at the Sofitel hotel at Heathrow airport on Thursday night, 16 November, and uploaded an image of her at the event to her Instagram account on Friday morning. In her caption for the picture, she wrote: "@sofitellondont5 Terminal 5 (Heathrow) private function. Thanks @eventsincltd @pioneerdjglobal @noisykitchenhq."
The post comes after her ex Eddie appeared to take a savage swipe at Denise after she confirmed her split from boyfriend Jimmy Barba.
Denise and property developer Jimmy, 55, went public with their romance last year but have now decided to go their separate ways. After the break up was announced, Denise’s ex Eddie took to his Instagram stories to make an apparent dig by uploading a clip of Queen song Another One Bites the Dust – along with the caption: “Next please…..”
Mum of one Denise and Eddie were together for seven years and appeared on Celebrity Gogglebox together but they parted ways in January 2022 after reports he had betrayed her trust by sending messages to other women – which he denied at the time. Eddie was then said to be staying with his friends after moving out of his home with Denise.
Six months after their split, Denise went public with Jimmy, who she met through All Saints singer Shaznay Lewis. The couple seemed inseparable during the initial stages of their relationship, attending red carpet events, enjoying holidays, and sharing glimpses of their life on social media.
A source previously told OK! that Denise was "smitten" with Jimmy, confirming: "Denise is head over heels for Jimmy – he feels like a breath of fresh air and is a real man after all of Eddie's drama.
"He makes her laugh, they're having so much fun together after meeting online. It's not been long, but she's smitten which is why she went on red carpet official with him.”
However, in recent weeks, there has been a noticeable absence of joint posts while Denise has been actively involved in her work, including DJing and presenting on Steph's Packed Lunch.
And earlier this week, she announced they had split – telling The Sun: "We have decided to part ways, but we remain great friends, and our families and children are still in touch."
Eddie recently claimed that he is the "happiest he’s ever been” after revealing he had a new relationship in August this year. The star shared a snap as he was cuddled up to a blonde woman, with fans being quick to comment on how much she resembled Denise.
Meanwhile, Denise spoke out about her split from Eddie in her autobiography A Bit Of Me: From Basildon To Broadway And Back, where she revealed what set off her "alarm bells."
The Celebrity Gogglebox star wrote: "Among photos was a screenshot…of a woman’s breasts – and they definitely weren’t mine!
"Also, there was a flirty text exchange between Eddie and this woman, which, of course, set off alarm bells."
In May last year, Denise spoke to OK! about opening up about her experiences in the book, and how it has helped her feel better. She told us: "It was an opportunity to be very open about certain things, and it’s cathartic when you do something like that.
"Some of it is difficult to talk about, but I think that after writing it and now it’s out there, I feel better."
