EastEnders Shona McGarthy and Blues Lee Ryan in wholesome moment as they hug in matching outfits

EastEnders star Shona McGarthy and Blue's Lee Ryan shared a wholesome moment as they laughed at wearing matching outfits to the TRIC Awards.

Some of the biggest names in British television and radio descended on London's Grosvenor House Hotel for the annual bash on Wednesday.

The event saw a host of stars, including Holly Willoughby, Philip Schofield and Rochelle Humes, turn up for the event in some of their most red carpet ready looks.

But two stars in particular were left laughing once they realised they had turned up in outfits that looked very similar.

EastEnders actress Shona McGarthy, 30, who is best known for playing Whitney Dean on the soap, bumped into Blue star Lee Ryan, 39, outside the event and both started laughing once they realised they were wearing extremely similar pale blue suits.

The pair both wore a light blue jacket and matching trousers over a white T-shirt, with the only difference between their looks being that Shona opted for a pair of wedge platform heels with her outfit and Lee wore a pair of casual trainers.

Earlier in the night, Lee had been photographed with the rest of his Blue bandmates – Antony Costa, Simon Webbe and Duncan James – who all looked dapper for the event.

Rochelle Humes led the red carpet arrivals at the event, wearing a golden dress that showed off her toned stomach and adding matching leather brown shoes and a bag to complete the look.

The prestigious event, which OK! was the media partner for, honours the best of British broadcasting and saw a whooping 18 awards given out to stars and shows alike.

OK!'s Daytime Programme Award was won by ITV’s This Morning gang, while Good Morning Britain picked up the Best Multi-Channel News gong.

Plenty of individual stars were honoured too, with Holby City’s Rosie Marcel beating off stiff competition from Paige Sandhu, Sally Carman and Simon Gregson to scoop the Soap Actor accolade.

Ant and Dec also beat their frenemy Piers Morgan to the TV Personality prize, while Roman Kemp scooped two accolades – Best Radio Programme and Radio Personality.

Eamonn Holmes, who left ITV in late 2021, won Best News Presenter.
