EMILY PRESCOTT: James Corden hits back after US ‘trash talker’ accuses him of being a diva
- James Corden rubbished claims he acted in a ‘diva-like’ manner at a LA concert
- Corden and his wife are said to be house-hunting in Hampstead, North London
He may have just returned to Britain after his stint as a US chat show host but James Corden is still having to deal with the headache of life in La La Land.
He has rubbished claims made live on air by American radio host Ally Johnson that he behaved in a diva-like manner when attending a concert in Los Angeles last month.
Ally, who was at the concert by Irish singer Hozier, told listeners of the Klein/Ally show: ‘I was able to witness first-hand James Corden being a little bit of a diva.’
According to Ally, the former host of The Late Late Show seemed ‘irked and annoyed’ at the lack of a personal escort to take him to his seat before a performance by the Take Me To Church singer at the Troubadour nightclub in West Hollywood.

However, Ally, who is clearly no fan of Corden given that she admitted on air that she ‘trash talks’ him all the time, seemed a little less convinced of her story when I contacted her about it.
She conceded: ‘It’s not like he threw a tantrum or anything but it just rubbed me the wrong way.’
She also conceded that Corden, 44, would have understandably been concerned about wandering around the nightclub aimlessly and being recognised when his escort initially failed to appear.
Luckily, a spokesman for Corden shed some light on the matter, telling me: ‘This is 100 per cent not true. James had a great time.’
All things considered, it’s no wonder the Gavin And Stacey star is excited to get back to London after his time in California.
The actor and his TV producer wife, Julia Carey, are said to be house-hunting in trendy Hampstead, North London.
But there’s not just a change of scene on the cards – One Man, Two Guvnors director Nicholas Hytner recently revealed he was hoping to entice Corden into reviving his lead role in the West End play. It definitely sounds like a good idea – the smash-hit comedy received rave reviews and won Corden a Tony award for Best Actor.
