Emma Watson reveals what shes been doing for 2 years after stepping away from life

Emma Watson returned to social media this week as she admitted to stepping away from life for a moment to take time focussing on herself.

Emma, who earlier this year attended Elton John’s star-studded Oscars party, is most well-known for her time in the Harry Potter franchise where she played Hermione Granger alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.

To mark her 33rd birthday, Emma took to Instagram on Sunday to share a lengthy personal essay that updated fans on what’s been going on in her life.

From learning new skills to exploring business ventures, the actress has been mixing things up.

Sharing a black and white image of herself posing up a storm, Emma wrote: “This is 33. Holy moly. Before 29 I hadn’t even heard of a Saturn Return as a concept. Let’s just say that now I am well acquainted.”

Saturn return is an astrology concept which claims that “every 27 to 29 years, Saturn returns to the degree and sign that it was at the time that you were born” and ushers in a huge period of change.

The time is seen as incredibly transformative and believers report coming to terms with their past mistakes as they move into full adulthood.

Emma continued: “I stepped away from my life – I learned to surf (badly), I rode some horses (that went better), I did a lot of therapy (YESS therapy!). My brother and I figured out how to make a gin using recycled wine grapes!?

“I adopted Sofia in Mexico, who seems to be an angel not a dog. We filmed a Harry Potter reunion. I said goodbye to my Grandma and Grandpa. I retraced my steps. I started a women’s environmental investment fund. I played Pickleball with @sugarrayleonard and I even played golf and then tried to make all of my girlfriends learn too.

“I cut my thumb nail off on both hands trying to cook for myself and then was only able to do things one handed for months," Emma continued.

Reflecting on her journey, Emma said she has learnt a lot about love and being a woman.

“I burned some things down. I eat green things now ! I got obsessed with making Squarespace websites. I directed my first commercial. These pictures were actually taken on my birthday last year, but I wasn’t ready to come out of my Covid Cocoon,” she added.

Emma took a moment at the end of the statement to “thank the witches in my coven” who have aided her.

The Disney Princess added: “You are my Avengers and you inspire me and kick ass. It takes a village, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. And lastly – thank you to my brother @alex.s.watson for helping me find the most challenging things, with time, incredibly funny. Thank you @jessicaediehl – I’m obsessed with you.”

Fans celebrated the actress in the comments, with Vanessa Hudgens writing: “What a goddess.”

Fans also wondered when Emma will return to the big screen as her last role was in 2019’s Little Women alongside Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh, Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet and Meryl Streep.
