Emma Watson Shut Down *Those* Engagement Rumors to Boyfriend Leo Robinton

Emma Watson—your favorite Hermione Granger–playing, feminist icon—is in love, y’all! Emma has quietly been in a relationship with her boyfriend, Leo Robinton, for about three years now, and things are seemingly pretty darn serious between them. She’s all grown up. 😭

Since it’s possible that Emma juuuuust might be with Leo for the long haul, it’s time to do a lil deep dive into who Leo Robinton is to see if he’s actually worthy of being Emma’s fiancé. There’s lots of ground to cover, so put on your thinking caps!

Leo was first linked to Emma in 2019.

Everyone was just minding their business in October 2019, until suddenly—pics of Emma kissing Leo publicly (who at the time was simply called a mystery man) during a day out in London hit the web—she was claiming the heck outta him! (You can peep the pics here.)

He’s SUPER private about social media accounts.

After those kissing pics hit the web, the Daily Mail revealed Leo’s identity in April 2020. Naturally, the extra attention started spooking Leo out, and the outlet reported that he promptly deleted his Instagram and social media accounts to protect his and Emma’s privacy—respectable! Since then though, it seems he may have reactivated it? Even if so, the Instagram page is locked and only has four posts, so don’t get your hopes up on a lil potential lurk.

Leo is a businessman.

According to The Sun, Leo is allegedly a 31-year-old, Los Angeles–based businessman who used to work for a company that specialized in legal cannabis. Before meeting Emma, he left his role in June 2019.

He comes from a pretty big family.

Leo reportedly has two older sisters named Daisy and Lily, an older brother named Charlie, and—surprise—a twin brother named Archer! His sister Daisy—who is a cell and molecular biologist, casual—tweeted a pic of them together at the Washington, D.C. Women’s March back in 2017 (supporting women’s rights, we love to see it!). “Proud of my little bro for trekking across the country to support women’s rights @TheresLeo #EmpowerWomen #WomensMarchDC,” she wrote.

Leo and Emma are “serious.”

Back in April 2020, a source told the Daily Mail that “Emma and Leo did everything in their power to keep their relationship private,” adding that at that point in their relationship, Leo had already met Emma’s parents. “Emma introduced Leo to her parents; she was really serious about him.…They went for a meal together back in December at The Ivy restaurant in St John’s Wood not long after Emma and Leo first met.” The feelings and vibes have only strengthened since, y’all.

“Emma is so loved up with Leo and this is the happiest anyone’s seen her in a relationship by a million miles,” a source told Us Weekly over a year later in June 2021. “They’re so connected in every way and spend all their spare time together.”

Fans thought Leo popped the question to Emma (spoiler: he didn’t).

Back in February 2021, the Daily Mail posted a pretty vague report that said Emma plans to “step back from acting to spend time with rumored fiancé Leo Robinton.” According to their source, “Emma has gone underground; she is settling down with Leo. They’re lying low. Maybe she wants a family.” (It’s also worth noting that Emma was spotted wearing a band on her wedding finger at the beginning of February, which you can see here.)

But by the spring, Emma was correcting the narrative via Twitter. She wrote, “Dear Fans, Rumours about whether I’m engaged or not, or whether my career is ‘dormant or not’ are ways to create clicks each time they are revealed to be true or untrue.” In another tweet she continued, saying: “If I have news—I promise I’ll share it with you.”

Dear Fans,
Rumours about whether I’m engaged or not, or whether my career is “dormant or not” are ways to create clicks each time they are revealed to be true or untrue.

If I have news – I promise I’ll share it with you.

But to be clear: Emma *does* see a future with her man, even though there might not be a ring on her finger. “Emma is all in and has her heart set on a long-term future, but she doesn’t want to rush an engagement,” the source continued to tell Us Weekly. “She was a little annoyed when people started gossiping about an engagement being in the works, but that was really just a privacy thing.”

Honestly, you can’t help but to ‘ship this couple. Stay tuned!
