First Dates Ireland star Jordan Dunbar dies aged 29 as his devastated family and friends pay tribute to ‘a wonderful talent, gone far too young’
Jordan Dunbar, known for appearances on First Dates Ireland and My Yellow Brick Road, has died aged 29.
The Dublin native was one of the contestants on the first series of the Irish dating show and made a memorable impression on viewers.
Jordan, who worked in a number of hair salons around the Irish capital, later went on to be a part of the makeover series My Yellow Brick Road, which aired in 2019.
Jordan’s family confirmed his funeral plans will be finalised on Thursday.
They said: ‘He is predeceased by his loving mam Sharon and uncle Michael.

‘He will be sadly missed by his loving dad Albert and Albert’s brother and sisters, aunt Michelle, cousin Craig, his second family Gerry, Leeanne and Maria Nolan, his close friends Geena and Megan, relatives and a large circle of friends.

Ireland’s state broadcaster RTE also released a statement on Jordan’s passing, saying: ‘We are very sad to hear of the death of Jordan Dunbar. Jordan featured on First Dates Ireland and was also a presenter on the series My Yellow Brick Road.
‘A wonderful talent, gone far too young. Our deepest sympathies to his loved ones.’
TV production company Coco Television, which produces First Dates Ireland, said: ‘Our hearts our broken with the death of Jordan Dunbar, such a talented and beautiful person.
‘We first met him on First Dates and he went on to present My Yellow Brick Road on RTE. He was a joy to work with & it was a privilege to know him. Deepest sympathy to all who loved him.’
Several Twitter users paid tribute to Jordan, with one writing: ‘I remeber him from my old hairdressers, he was always a nice guy to chat to. My deepest condolences to his family.’
Another user said: ‘So sorry to hear this, I met Jordan several times and he was always nice and had an infectious joy.’
