Former MAFS star Marylise tells all on secret relationship with one of this years stars

It's the show everyone is talking about… and as Married and First Sight UK concludes what will be its fourth week on our television screens, our investments into the relationships of each pairing get deeper and deeper.

And no one is more aware of the pressures of this unconventional dating show than last year's start Marylise Corrigan, who 'wed' and subsequently 'divorced' her controversial co-star Franky Spencer on the hit series.

Catching up with OK! this week, mum-of-two Marylise, 38, reveals she actually has a secret relationship history with one of this year's contestants – none other than Pjay Finch.

"I went out with Pjay a couple of times," Marylise discloses. "He’s such a lovely guy. He seemed quite shy when I first met him, I’m not going to lie, he was reserved.

"I went to watch Dreamboys in my hometown of Hull in October last year and then we met a week or so later."

But why was their relationship so short-lived?

"We didn’t carry it on because I had personal things going on in November," she explains. "I was actually donating a kidney to my ex-husband – because I couldn’t really plan anything. So, it kind of fizzled out from there but he wished me well.

"What you’re seeing on screen is bang on – he’s such a genuine person."

Though performer Pjay made the decision to depart from the show just a few weeks after 'wedding' partner Jess Potter, mum-of-two Marylise reveals she "definitely" found it hard to watch her ex-beau's turbulent relationship unfold.

"At first, I thought Jess was being a bit too harsh on him but then as the show has progressed, I do respect Jess now.

"I think she was being true to herself, she could have carried on being fake but she wasn’t. I did feel sorry for Pjay, don’t get me wrong, but I think she did the right thing. He took it like a man."

The pair decided to call it quits early on in the process when Jess admitted she had no physical attraction to Pjay and broke down crying after learning he was a stripper for the Dreamboys

Despite sharing similar values and getting on well, Jess ultimately decided their connection wasn't strong enough to justify continuing and the pair left the show with no hard feelings.

Marylise is preparing to run the London Marathon this weekend in aid of Kidney Research just 10 months after donating her own kidney to her children’s dad.#
