Frank Ocean, 35, broke his silence on his “chaotic” Coachella show after it was confirmed he is no longer set to perform as a headliner at the festival again this Sunday.
The singer’s representatives explained that the first show went ahead after being “reworked” as the Novacane singer got injured in the days prior.
They explained: “After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend one, Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity.
“On doctor’s advice, [the] artist is not able to perform weekend two due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg,” the representatives added to Entertainment Weekly.
Frank also addressed the backlash from outraged fans who criticised him for showing up an hour late before the performance was cut short by the festival organisation.
He said in a statement: “It was chaotic. There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show, but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.”
Frank was initially set to play Coachella in 2020, but the event was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, and then was unable to perform for its rescheduled 2022 dates.
But when the show finally happened last weekend, things went quickly downhill as fans complained he was barely visible due to his position at the back of the stage.
Some fans also claimed the star lip-synced throughout the set and brought other artists to perform on stage in his place.
Frank was also interrupted by the festival staff who purportedly told him he had to end the show.

He explained: “Guys, I’m being told it’s curfew, so that’s the end of our show. Thank you so much.”
Furious festival-goers took to social media following the set to reveal their thoughts on the performance.
Twitter user Rakasvernon said: “Frank ocean need to act a little less mysterious like at this point it’s just gonna hurt your ‘relationship’/connection (can’t think of a better word) with fans….” (sic)
Thankyounoisse added: “Coachella was so f***ing weird this year frank ocean blew his set i regret spending all that money ugh.” (sic)
But it was not all bad reviews for Frank, as some defended him – including fellow musician Justin Bieber, who gushed over his “artistry” in a heartfelt Instagram post.
