Gordon Ramsay still honours son Rocky after ‘really tough’ loss

Gordon Ramsay has opened up about his 26-year marriage to wife Tana, including the loss of their son Rocky.

Tana experienced a pregnancy loss at 20 weeks in 2016, but the couple still make efforts to remember him whenever they can.

“There’s no book that guides you through that loss, and so losing Rocky was really tough,” Gordon said.

“Watching the trauma unfold, it’s this life-changing moment.”

Gordon and Tara share five children together; daughter Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 23, daughter Matilda ‘Tilly’, 21, and son Oscar.

All seven of them are apparently still honouring Rocky to this day.

Gordon’s home in Cornwall was named after Rocky, and each member of the family sports his name with a piece of jewelry.

“We wouldn’t have had Oscar had we not lost Rocky,” he told PEOPLE.

“There was no substitute — far from it — but it brought us a bond that you’d never experience in a normal situation.”

And Tana said of their son: “Born with a strong heartbeat but too little to survive.”

Recently, Tana marked seven years since losing Rocky with a post from her pregnancy during their daughter Megan’s 18th birthday.

“A happy picture taken of us celebrating Meghan’s 18th, I was just under 20 weeks pregnant,” she said.

“Although it’s 7 years today, it still feels like yesterday. We all miss you everyday. We love you Rocky, forever in our hearts. I couldn’t do this without my family, you are all everything to me xxxxxxxx.”

Gordon remembers his wife being “incredibly resilient” at the time.

“That’s the power of Tana,” he said. “Just watching the way that she dealt with it — and opened up with other friends and women in close proximity that could give advice — she was incredible straight after that.”
