Halle Berry’s daughter, Nahla, is 15! The actor celebrated her eldest child’s birthday on March 16 with a sweet Instagram tribute featuring rare photos of the teen. Berry’s post included three pictures of Nahla: a throwback of the mother-daughter duo in a picture frame that reads “love you more,” a shot of her lounging on a net overlooking the water, and a photo of her sitting on a couch and covering her face with a hat.
Berry penned a poetic caption that read, “One of the greatest gifts the universe has given me is my daughter, Nahla. She is the sun that never fades and the moon that never wanes! Please join me in wishing her a happy 15th Birthday today! I love you sweet angel.” Tons of famous friends and former costars commented their well wishes, including Viola Davis, Julianne Moore, and Mario Lopez.
The 56-year-old star shares Nahla with former boyfriend Gabriel Aubry and also has a 9-year-old son, Maceo, whom she welcomed with ex-husband Olivier Martinez in 2013. Berry sparingly posts about her children but is diligent about honoring their birthdays on social media. For Nahla’s 14th birthday last year, she shared a picture of them walking side by side on the beach with the caption: “14 years ago, I was blessed to give birth to an ‘Earth Angel’ and I named her Nahla Ariela! Humbled by your presence and overjoyed at the same time!” She also occasionally offers peeks into their home life, like when she shared a funny video of Maceo walking through the house in a pair of her heeled booties early on in the pandemic.
Nahla and Maceo sound quite supportive of their mom’s relationship with boyfriend Van Hunt. Early last year, Berry spoke about how Maceo organized a “commitment ceremony” for them in the back seat of their car. “I think he finally sees me happy, and it’s infectious,” she told AARP, adding, “It was a very real moment for all of us. I teared up, Van was fighting back tears. Even Maceo knew he’d said something poignant. It meant a lot to us.” She and Hunt have been linked since 2020 and most recently stepped out together for the Oscars.
