Harry and Meghan’s Netflix show branded ‘destructive act of revenge’, by experts

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new Netflix series has been branded a "destructive act of revenge" by Royal experts, after a second trailer was released on 5 December.

Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, are set to star in a new six-part series, titled Harry & Meghan, which will see them open up about their lives and their experiences with the Royal Family.

Two trailers have been released for the series, both giving fans a glimpse of what they can expect and it's safe to say there will be many bombshells included in the show.

Now, royal author Richard Fitzwilliams has issued his verdict on the show, calling it a "destructive attack" on the Royals.

"This is a full frontal, extremely destructive attack on the Royal Family – the institution as well as individual households and members of those households. This series I suspect will greatly weaken the royals in the eyes of the world, especially among young people," he told MailOnline.

Speaking about Harry and brother William's tense relationship, Richard admitted that he believes the series will "widen the rift" between the pair.

He also added: "There is no doubt that this Netflix series is an amazing act of revenge designed to weaken the very institution that William will inherit as future King."

OK! has contacted Harry and Meghan's representatives for comment.

Harry and Meghan's show is described as "an unprecedented and in-depth documentary series" where "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex share the other side of their high-profile love story."

Netflix's description continues: "Across six episodes, the series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution."

It won't just be the Sussexes telling the story, it will also include "commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed, and historians who discuss the state of the British Commonwealth today and the royal family’s relationship with the press."

It concludes, "The series does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other. From the critically-acclaimed, two-time Academy Award-nominated and Emmy-winning director Liz Garbus, Harry & Meghan is a never-before-seen look at one of the most-discussed couples in history."

The Netflix show is comprised of six episodes, which will be released in two stages. The first three episodes entitled Volume I, will be available on the streaming platform from December 8.

Volume II, which will be the three final episodes, will be ready to watch from December 15.
