Helen Flanagan hits back at ‘vile’ trolls saying ‘I will not be bodyshamed’

Helen Flanagan doesn't have any time for online body-shamers.

The mum-of-three, 32, is currently sunning it up in Ibiza after gracing our screens in the maiden series of I'm a Celebrity: South Africa just recently, but some paparazzi bikini photos managed to bring about some unwanted and "vile" attention.

Certain sections of the commenting public highlighted Helen's body, suggesting that she'd gained weight.

In an Instagram Stories thread, the former Coronation Street actress hit back with: "I'm 5ft 4 and a UK size 6/8 x I'm really proud of my body I've carried and given birth to 3 children," before addressing the vitriol by video.

"Hi guys. Sorry I've probably got food in my teeth because I've just scoffed lunch – maybe I shouldn't be scoffing lunch seeing as though I'm gaining weight!" she said tongue-in-cheek.

"I feel really, like, rubbish about myself all the time and I'm just like, whatever. But I just think it's disgusting and I'm sticking up for myself because I think it's really horrible to speak about other women in that way.

"I'm all for women empowerment, I just kind of think you shouldn't be… especially as mums as well, everything that our bodies go through. I just think it's vile."

In one Insta story, she could be seen breastfeeding her two year old son, Charlie, as she wrote: "I also breastfeed my children in total for 3 years. I will not be body shamed. Yes I have had my boobs done and it's vile to shame that too."

This comes after she revealed a secret boob job back in January of this year, telling her social media fans: "I have been really nervous about sharing this, because you always get some, like, not very nice comments or what have you.

"It's just something that I did for myself, I really wanted to do it for my confidence. Obviously I very much am for body confidence, and very much for supporting other women, but supporting women in all choices that they decided to do. I think if something really is bothering you, then I think, you know, it's a good thing to do something about it."

The criticisms seem to be never-ending for the TV star, who just this week received angry responses to her parenting techniques with son Charlie, and daughters Delilah and Matilda.

Fortunately, some of the population isn't full of hate, as several fans reached out to support Helen.

"Stop with the nasty comments, she is and amazing mum who supports and loves her children. So stop putting her down, she can do what she likes!!!" read one message.

Another positive person added: "A lot of actual bullying in these comments. These comments are like something from nasty kids in a playground, hard to imagine they’ve come from adults. She’s a mum doing her best."
