Helen Skelton has broken her silence amid reports that Richie Myler, her estranged husband, is expecting a child with his new partner Stephanie Thirkill.
The pair were said to have announced their happy news in a gushing post on Stephanie's private Instagram page, and are reportedly “thrilled” to be expecting their first child together.
And as the news emerged, less than a year after Richie welcomed his daughter Elsie Kate with ex Helen in December, mum-of-three Helen took to Instagram to break her silence.
Ignoring the news, the star posted a sweet snap of her two sons Ernie, seven, and Louis, five, who appear to be playing FIFA on the PlayStation while their 10 month old sister Elsie stood watching.
Helen captioned the photo: “A life with brothers….”
Helen and Richie’s unexpected separation came just four months after Elsie’s birth.
Writing over a black background, the Countryfile star explained on social media at the time: "Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple. He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co parent our small children."
She ended the message with two broken heart emojis.
Discussing the news of Richie and Stephane’s pregnancy, a source close to the rugby star said the new flames are “extremely happy together”.
“Stephanie and Richie are obviously thrilled. They have moved very quickly but are extremely happy together. The timing of the pregnancy may raise a few eyebrows though,” they told The Sun.
"It is obviously such a huge step, and one made remarkably quickly off the back of Helen and Richie’s eight-year marriage ending. But Richie and Helen maintain cordial relations, and in a way the timing is actually perfect as Helen is so happy at the moment."
They added: "Accordingly, Richie didn’t think it would be a huge problem because they have both moved on with their lives.”
As Richie settles down with his new partner, Helen has been hitting the dance floor alongside Gorka Marquez for this year’s Strictly.
However, in the wake of her unexpected split from her husband, Helen’s confidence is said to have been “knocked”.
A show source told us: “Helen’s confidence has been knocked to shreds but Gorka knows she has the ability to win. She needs to learn to believe in herself and Gorka is helping her to feel that.
“A lot of the other stars think she’s going to win this, too.”
