Holly Willoughby has made a rare appearance for charity as she wears a Christmas jumper for Save The Children.

The 42-year-old appeared alongside other celebrities such as Alex Jones who were all involved in the campaign to raise awareness for Save the Children’s annual fundraising campaign, Christmas Jumper Day.

The English presenter has stayed out of the limelight since she stepped down from This Morning after 14 years.

On October 10, Holly wrote that she will “not be returning to This Morning” in an emotional post on Instagram.

She penned: “I have let ITV know today that after 14 years, I will not be returning to This Morning.

“To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much.”

She added that it has been an “honour” and thanked her “wonderful viewers” for the support.

Holly concluded: “Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much. Holly.”

“You don’t even need a new jumper to take part, you can dig out an old knit that you’ve had for years or go to a charity shop and find a cool vintage one.”

Holly’s departure from This Morning came during a very difficult year for the English presenter as she has suffered public fallouts, losing a close family member and failing to win the Best Daytime Award at the National Television Awards.

Other famous faces who were involved in the campaign included presenter Laura Whitmore, Big Brother host Will Best, and activist Katie Piper.

Christmas Jumper Day is on Thursday December 7 and anyone can get involved by wearing a festive sweater and donating £2 (or £1 for children) to Save the Children.
