Jamie Theakston rages at thieves as ‘entirely unique’ car stolen

Jamie Theakston has blasted thieves for stealing his vintage Triumph convertible.

The 52-year-old Heart FM presenter posted to his Instagram account yesterday venting his anger to his 68,800 followers.

Sharing a carousel of images of the car, including one that showed his cute dogs sitting in the back seat, he described the 1977 green motor as “entirely unique”.

Captioning the post, he wrote: “So – to the p***k who stole our car last night – you really picked the wrong one – it’s entirely unique, and everyone is looking for it.”

Fans quickly offered support in the comments section, with one user writing: “Oh no so sorry to hear this, I know how much you both loved this car… hoping for a swift return.”

A second told him: “Will keep a lookout ! It’s so beautiful.”

And a third added: “Oh that’s awful! Hoping it is back with you soon!”

Fellow presenter Zoe Hardman also replied: “Oh JT. Not again… I’m so sorry x,” as Kimberly Wyatt posted a shocked emoji face.

Jamie’s wife Sophie also took to social media to share the “horrible news” and called for people to help them find the vehicle.

This prompted one of her neighbours to comment: “I have had two cars stolen from outside my house. I’m a couple of roads away from you,” they replied: “… One was eventually found in a police pound in Dagenham and the other was never seen again. I hope yours turns up unscathed soon.”

However, in a follow-up post, she revealed the car had been found “miles from home and driven into the ground”.

Sharing an image of it on the side of the motorway with her 15,500 followers, she wrote: “Oh my Goodness…. Where do I start?

“Firstly, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart to Mark and his lovely wife who found Esme late last night and let us know where we could locate her.

“She was miles from home and had been driven into the ground. So after a tearful reunion, she promptly broke down on the M25, tired and emotional (she is very sensitive). But after a couple of hours on the hard shoulder in my pyjamas we were rescued and finally got her HOME!”

She went on to say: “I cannot say a big enough thank you to them and to every single one of you who helped us and responded to our appeals. After many tears of sadness and feeling genuine disappointment in humanity… there were tears of joy. And yesterday I was reminded what a great country this is and how many really kind and caring people there are in it.

“Thank you to you ALL for your lovely supportive words and advice yesterday. She’s back. She’s safe. I know she’s only a ‘thing’ but she’s my very old and very beautiful thing and I love her. And the bad guys didn’t win on this occasion… kindness did.”

This is the second time that Jamie has had a car stolen. In October, he told listeners on his Heart Radio show: “It was 2am when my doorbell rings and it’s the police. They say, ‘Mr Theakston your car has been stolen. It’s just appeared on a tracker and it’s about an hour away’.”
