Janette Manrara confirms return to Strictly: It Takes Two
Last month, Janette Manrara was beaming with pride and anticipation as she revealed on Instagram Stories that she’d be back on Strictly: It Takes Two for the 2023 series of the show.
However, the 39-year-old star, who has now also returned to BBC Morning Live, sparked a passionate debate when she posted a photo of her husband and baby girl watching her on the screen back at home, attracting comments like: “Your incision hasn’t even healed yet!”
“It was so nice to be back on @bbcmorninglive today w/ @gethincjones and the whole gang!” Janette penned emotionally in her caption, in view of 588,000 followers.
“But what made it extra special, is that Lyra got to watch her Mami doing her thing at work for the first time w/ her cousins Zala and Tisa.
“So special to know that they were all watching together at home! This photo melted my heart. I cannot wait to cuddle her all day now!” Janette gushed in anticipation of having little Lyra Rose back in her arms.

She added a supportive message to anyone in the same situation, praising: “To all the working moms out there…. You’re incredible and we’ve got this.”
However, her message riled some fans, who seemed worried her words might pressurise other first-time mums to go back sooner than they were ready.
“Do you realise you have a child to look after? You didn’t have her so you could pass her over to your husband 23 hrs a day,” one said in the comments.
Another stated: “This isn’t personal and I mean no disrespect, but I wish celebs wouldn’t normalise mums going back to work when their babies are tiny.

“Most of us don’t want to, aren’t physically or emotionally ready and it’s not what’s best for us. It’s a shame Janette feels pressured into going back so soon.”
A third agonised: “I know mums have to work but personally I think this is too soon… Mother and baby bonding is so important. Mind you Dad looks very hands on.”
Janette had previously praised Aljaz, who’d taken some time out from working commitments to look after their little one.
However, the string of messages questioning her rapid return to the public eye continued, with another fan quizzing: “Why back at work so soon?? You even said your incision hasn’t healed yet.”
Others supported her desire to balance motherhood with work, with one reminding the world: “It is normal, most mothers have to go back to work! There isn’t a magic money pot in the garden!”
One fan urged critics not to “knock” anyone “doing what suits them and their family”, explaining: “It’s a fact that a lot of people have to do this. Also some want to. Whatever is right for each person.”
Others declared her a “beautiful bad**s mama” setting an example to working mothers of what they could achieve post-baby, and raved: “It is so good to see you back on the screen!”
