‘I actually had a great experience. We were able to park almost on the doorstep, no queue and done n dusted in under 15 minutes. Well done #nhs.’

Fans were quick to sent their well wishes under the post as one wrote: ‘You look really amazing Jonnie. Keep fighting all your fans have their hands on your back.’

A second commented: ‘Looking really well, Johnnie, sincerely. Hope you had a good break.’

Someone else wrote: ‘So glad it all went ok and was a positive experience for you! Scanxiety is a real thing, I know from experience, but when you have a good experience it certainly helps with future scans.’

A fourth supporter typed: ‘You look great. Good luck keeping everything crossed.’

It comes after Jonnie spent some quality time with his family over the weekend amid his battle with terminal cancer.

The TV personality holidayed with wife Jessica Holmes, 40, and their three young children, Rex, four, and two-year-old twins Rafa and Cormac.

Jonnie shared an array of photographs from their glorious getaway, in which he could be seen smiling widely.

In one adorable shot shared to Instagram, the TV star was sat on a sun lounger, surrounded by his three kids who were dressed in matching red and white shirts.

Making precious memories on the family vacation, Jonnie photographed his three children lined up wearing colourful swimwear, inflatable armbands and even a shark’s fin, ready for a swim.

The Escape To The Country host also shared a snap of the family sitting around a dining table and indulging in a feast with fellow loved ones.

Elsewhere, his wife Jessica relaxed on the grass by the swimming pool with a drink in her hand, while one of their young twins played beside her.

Jonnie captioned his heartwarming upload: ‘The best weather, best fun and the very best people for a few days away.’

The television personality is bravely battling the terminal disease after he was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2020, which has since spread to his brain.

Jonnie appeared on BBC Morning Live earlier this month to give fans a health update and talk about the importance of palliative care.

Jonnie previously admitted that the pain can get so bad that he seeks solace at a hospice, unwilling to let his family see him suffer.

Speaking to Hello! magazine, he explained: ‘I remove myself on a number of occasions because I’m not good to be around when I’m in pain.

‘I’m like a bear with a sore head and I don’t want them to be around that.’

He said: ‘I got some scans today. Not in a hospital but in a leisure centre car park. MRI and CT unit. In this, surprisingly.

Discussing his death, the dad-of-three added: ‘It can happen at any time. I’m here to stop it for as long as possible.’

The presenter also discussed his decision to keep the cancer battle a secret from his children.

‘I keep being asked, ‘Are you going to tell them?’ but tell them what? It would be horrible news that they’d have to get their heads around,’ he said.

‘And it would confuse the hell out of Rex – he’s got a shocking enough day coming. Let’s bury our heads in the sand for as long as possible.’
