Judi Love: ‘I’m hooked on crazy Love Island, can we talk about Zach?’

As Love Island continues to grip the nation, OK! columnist Judi Love has her say on which islanders had her on the edge of her seat last week – and which are not to be trusted during the infamous Casa Amor.

The ITV2 dating show has certainly not been short of drama this season, and is set to be amped up a notch with the islanders parting ways for Casa Amor this week. And it's the boys that our columnist has her eye on, as she explains, "Love Island has me hooked – it’s been crazy.

"We were all shocked when Molly left and then Mehdi too. I’m hoping that Jess and Sammy will reunite because there is definitely a connection between them.

"And can we talk about Zach? Love Island really reminds you of how quickly someone can get over you. I don’t even think Molly had left the island before he started cracking on with Kady. Saying that, I’m here to see the drama – we just need to see what those boys get up to in Casa Amor," said Judi.

While she may be busy watching TV at the moment, the shoe will soon be on the other foot as Judi reveals a new TV venture of her own. Set to star on Dave's challenge show Outsiders, she will be teaming up with a selection of comedians as they rough it for one week in the wild.

Judi reveals, "I’m so happy I can finally tell you all I’m going to be in the next series of Outsiders on Dave. It’s a show where you’re paired up with another comedian and given challenges while camping in a “near-apocalyptic” world.

"They want to see how you would survive without everyday luxuries like the internet. It’s such a fun show and I’m really excited for you all to see me in it. But my gosh, let’s put it this way, I’d rather go glamping!"

Somewhere Judi did skip out on camping was last week's Glastonbury Festival, where a slew of megastars took to the iconic Worthy Farm. Amongst the performers was Scottish sensation Lewis Capaldi, who suffered from his Tourette's while performing.

As a result, the singer has decided to cancel all of his upcoming performances and commitments while taking some time out. Sending her love, Judi shares, "Lewis Capaldi has decided to take a break from touring for the foreseeable future. Although this may be sad news for many, as we will miss his live performances, it’s more important that he puts his mental and physical health first – and collectively we show our support.

"I can only imagine how challenging it was for him when he was trying to perform at Glastonbury and to make this difficult decision. Lewis, you are truly phenomenal."

She added, "You take the time out you need and, meanwhile, we will continue to enjoy the many hits you’ve blessed us with until you are ready to be live on stage again."

On a personal note, it's quite the milestone for Judi's family this week as her daughter turns 18, with celebrations aplenty for the big day. Admitting that it's a whole month of marking the moment, an emotional Judi looks to the next chapter.

"I can’t believe we’re celebrating my daughter’s 18th birthday this week. I feel like this is a stage in life where all parents hope and pray they can guide and support their child into becoming an adult. A part of me is excited to see her grow but the other part is like, “My baby isn’t my baby any more!” But she’ll always be my baby. Her celebrations will be for the whole month – there’s a birthday party, restaurants and many, many outfits going back and forth.

"It’s full glam and full mummy-daughter time. I can’t wait to see her flourish into the amazing young woman that she is."

Lastly, Judi shares how she took in last week's BET awards, which was broadcast to the UK from Los Angeles and celebrated black entertainers and other minorities in music, film, sports and philanthropy.

Judi said, "I thought that last week’s BET Awards were amazing. Watching it on TV was like full-on nostalgia for me because everybody who I love from when I was younger was on, as well as up-and-coming stars.

"I thought that Quavo and Offset’s performance was so heartfelt – they gave a tribute to the late rapper Takeoff. Every year I want to go and I don’t, but I will one day."
