Holly Willoughby quits ITV’s This Morning after 14 years
Fans “need to respect” Holly Willoughby’s decision to step away from This Morning, Loose Women star Judi Love has stated.
The 43-year-old ITV star stated in her OK! magazine column that it is “understandable” she is prioritising her family and that disappointed fans should accept that she will no longer be returning to her usual morning slot.
“That must have been a difficult decision for her after an equally difficult year in the spotlight,” Judi wrote.
“We need to respect that, for whatever reason, she is putting a pin in her career and understandably, putting her family first.”
Judi stated that she wishes the presenter “all the best” for the future, although, like many, she’s unsure whether stepping away from This Morning also means resigning from her hosting role at Dancing On Ice.

Meanwhile, Judi – who presented the Outstanding Contribution Award to The Windrush Generation, along with Sir Trevor McDonald, at the Pride of Britain Awards this month – now has her sights set on a different TV show.
“The rumours are true – the Love Island Games are happening!” the excited presenter exclaimed, showing her enthusiasm for the planned series featuring nine ex-UK stars alongside 18 from the US, Australian, French and Swedish versions of the show.
Predicting a “fame-fest like no other”, Judi suggested it would be “less about finding love and more about brand deals”, but joked that she would be tuning in “for the drama”.
Judi added that she was “over the moon” to hear that Love Island UK presenter Maya Jama would be hosting the spin-off show too.

Meanwhile, there has been radio silence from Holly online since she publicly published her resignation letter to 8.5 million Instagram followers.
However, the star has received a string of supportive comments from ITV co-stars Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, plus stars such as Vanessa Feltz, This Morning’s TV doctor Zoe Williams, former Saturday Kitchen chef James Martin, “Baby Spice” Emma Bunton and many more.
Dr Zoe told the star: “Love you Holly. Thank you so much for all that you’ve done to welcome me, and support with nothing but kindness and a load of great laughs over the years.”
Dr Scott Williams chimed in: “It has been such a delight working with you. Such kindness, humour and genuine interest in others makes you one of the very best in the business.”
In her letter, Holly had thanked “everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years”, describing her departure as “such a difficult goodbye”.
“You are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together,” she reminisced, before additionally thanking “every guest who has sat on our sofa”.
“Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You’ve been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day,” Holly continued.
“Richard and Judy said, ‘We only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers.’ It’s been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go.”
However, she signed off by clarifying, as Judi has discussed, that she felt she’d had to make the decision to leave for “me and my family”.
