Kanye West’s loses fifth lawyer as Kim Kardashian divorce case continues

Kanye West is said to have lost his fifth divorce lawyer as his divorce with Kim Kardashian continues.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 41, filed for divorce from Kanye, 45, in February 2021 and the case is yet to come to an end.

The former couple reportedly have a trial-setting conference in LA coming up and the rapper’s current divorce lawyer, Samantha Spector, is said to have asked the judge to relieve her as counsel, according to TMZ.

The divorce lawyer did not comment on her reasons for the decision other than to say her relationship with Kanye has irretrievably broken down.

Despite having a date set next week to officially withdraw as counsel, the judge reportedly granted her request on Friday 5 August.

OK! has contacted a representative for Kanye for comment.

Kim and Kanye were married on May 24 2014 and have four children together, North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, three.

In February 2021, Kim filed for divorce and cited "irreconcilable differences", but Kanye reportedly refused to sign the papers.

The rapper also claimed to have "never seen" the documents, Kim said in her reality series.

Then, on 2 March, Kim wasdeclared legally single. And a day later, she removed West from her name on her official social media handles.

Kim later accused Kanye ofcausing her emotional distressduring their ongoing settlement proceedings.

Things seemed amicable at the start of the divorce process, with Kim tagging along for a number of supportive appearance at Kanye's listening parties for his latest album Donda.

They also sat together at events with their eldest daughter North and promised to put co-parenting of their kids before anything else. But, things soon took a whiplash turn for the worse.

Kim revealed on her Hulu series that following the mention of their split in the monologue, Kanye walked out of the SNL studio.

She said: "He walked out on SNL mid-monologue. So I haven't talked to him since. He's upset at the fact that I used the word divorced – so he wished I said the word 'filed for divorce'.

"And he was upset that I also said he was a rapper. He said, 'I'm so much more than a rapper. I can't believe you said rapper.'"

However, Kim's monologue wasn't the only thing to upset the Gold Digger hitmaker as he shared now-deleted Instagram post, claiming his daughter North was put on TikTok "against his will".

Sharing a screenshot of one of North's videos, he posted: "SINCE THIS IS MY FIRST DIVORCE I NEED TO KNOW WHAT I SHOULD DO ABOUT MY DAUGHTER BEING PUT ON TIK TOK AGAINST MY WILL."
