Kardashian ‘curse’ explained as Kim and Khloe hit back at claim they give bad luck to men

Kim Kardashian and her sister Khloe Kardashian have vehemently denied the viral TikTok theory that suggests a 'Kardashian Curse' befalls the men they date.

In a recent episode of their hit Hulu TV show, The Kardashians, Kim, 42, and Khloe, 39, condemned the theory as 'super sexist.'

The Kardashian curse posits that every man romantically involved with one of the Kardashian-Jenner sisters will endure a downfall, facing scandals and personal turmoil.

The origin of the curse was previously explained by their younger sister, Kylie Jenner, 25, who revealed on an earlier episode of the show that it is believed any man who dates a Kardashian faces a subsequent fall from grace.

While discussing the theory, Kourtney Kardashian 's ex-boyfriend Scott Disick, 40, jokingly referred to the Kardashians as 'witches,' saying: “every man that comes in contact with them is cursed. But isn't that just the Kardashian curse?”

Khloe expanded on the rumour, saying: “It says that, many moons ago, a woman in our family made a deal with four witches. It was wild.”

However, Khloe labelled the theory as “super sexist” and raised the question of societal double standards, emphasising that women are often blamed for the actions and struggles of their partners while men are not held to the same scrutiny. She said: "So you're telling me that I made someone a drug addict? I made someone cheat?"

Kim chimed in too, expressing her desire for the men they've dated to come to their defence. Kim also acknowledged the impact of the curse speculation on her ex-husband Kanye West, 46, citing his mental health struggles as examples.

Kanye's turbulent journey included a public mental breakdown, subsequent hospitalization, and the revelation of his bipolar disorder diagnosis. Last year, he faced significant backlash and experienced a decline in net worth following controversial remarks made on social media.

The Kardashian curse theory has also been associated with other relationships within the family. Kris Humphries, 38, who was married to Kim Kardashian for a mere 72 days, saw his reputation as a basketball player overshadowed by the brief marriage and subsequent appearances on the reality series.

Similarly, Reggie Bush, 38, who dated Kim for three years, faced a decline in his athletic career following their split. He retired shortly after being labeled the "biggest overhyped flop" in professional football.

The same can be said for Khloe Kardashian, including her marriage to Lamar Odom and her tumultuous relationship with basketball player Tristan Thompson, who many have pointed out went from being a starting man on a championship team to bouncing around the league with different teams.

Even Scott Disick has been through a number of ups and downs while dating Kourtney Kardashian, 44, for around nine years. Scott Disick, who shares three children with Kourtney Kardashian, has battled with addiction, leading him to seek treatment at various rehab facilities throughout the years.

In 2020, he checked into rehab once again, aiming to address past traumas. Unfortunately, he left after a few days due to a breach of privacy when an employee leaked his personal information from the facility.

While Kourtney has moved forward in her love life and found happiness with musician Travis Barker, with whom she is currently expecting a child, Scott has experienced a series of short-lived relationships.
