Kate Middleton is a vision in blue coat dress at Order of the Garter service

Kate Middleton was a vision in blue as she arrived at Windsor Castle today for the Order of the Garter ceremony.

The Duchess of Cambridge donned a stunning Catherine Walker coat dress paired with a blue fascinator and Sapphire stone jewellery.

The 40 year old Royal then accessorised with a matching clutch back and staple heels for the special event.

The mum-of-three wore her brunette locks swept up in an elegant bun and was all smiles as she showed off her subtle makeup and a sweep of blush.

Kate stood alongside Prince Edward's wife Sophie Wessex as they watched the ceremony from under the shade.

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge was spotted in his full ceremonial regalia, and joined his father Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall as they walked down the path surrounded by the other important members of the ceremony.

The Order of the Garter ceremony also includes 24 knights specially chosen by the Sovereign.

The decision honours those who have held public office, those who have contributed in a particular way to national life or who have served the Sovereign personally.
