Kate Middleton left royal watchers delighted as she wore the Strathmore Rose Tiara as she attended a state banquet at Buckingham Palace in honour of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee.
The tiara, which had belonged to Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the Queen Mother, and was last worn by her in the 1930s.
It has been rumoured to have fallen into disrepair in the years since until it was briefly displayed in a 2002 exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
The Princess of Wales stunned in the rarely-seen tiara, which was designed to resemble a garland of roses.
She paired this with a white gown designed by Jenny Packham, and a pair of dramatic opera-style gloves.
The Strathmore Rose Tiara was gifted to the Queen Mother by her father, Lord Strathmore ahead of her wedding to the then-Duke of York in 1923.
Art historian Sir Hugh Roberts, who penned the book The Queen's Diamonds, has claimed that although the tiara was not purchased until the 1920s, it had actually been designed and made in the late 1800s.
Following the Queen Mother's death in 2002, the Strathmore Rose was inherited by her daughter Queen Elizabeth II.
Since then it was rumoured to have been considered for a number of Royal brides on their wedding days but instead remained inside the Royal jewellery collection, not to be seen for a number of years.
Kate's decision to wear the glamorous tiara comes amid rumours of a row surrounding this year's Royal Christmas at Balmoral, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle rumoured to be open to attending.
However, former Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond has claimed that Prince William and Kate Middleton would "refuse to attend" if the Sussexes do.
Speaking exclusively to OK!, Jennie explained: "I can’t see how Charles could invite Harry and Meghan without causing major disruption and upsetting William and Kate, who would presumably refuse to attend.
"So I don’t think they will be invited for Christmas."
Talking further about the ongoing feud between William and Harry, Jennie said: "Feelings are much too raw between the brothers. I think William has closed his mind to thoughts of reconciliation any time soon and has simply moved on with his life.
"It’s probably his coping mechanism, just as Harry says he blocked out all feelings about losing his mother for the first few years after Diana’s death.
"William will probably have to deal with the rift with Harry one day but right now he is making his mark as Prince of Wales and enjoying great popularity and a wonderfully happy home life."
