John Wick: Chapter 4 official trailer
Keanu Reeves’ role John Wick franchise as a former hitman forced back into the criminal underworld may have come to an end for good after the actor asked to be killed off in this years’ release.
The actor, who starred in all four movies, is said to have become a “shell of himself” after the last film due to the arduous nature of the role.
According to franchise producer Basil Iwanyk, the actor’s performance and stonework in the movies began taking a physical and mental toll on him after the first instalment.
He said: “After the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th movie, making these films is so exhausting and it destroys Keanu, physically and emotionally.
“By the end, he’s always like, ‘I can’t do this again,’ and we agree with him.”

The producer added to Collider: “The guy is just a shell of himself because he just goes off and goes for it.
“He was like, ‘I wanna be definitively killed at the end of this movie.’ We were like, ‘You know, we’ll leave a 10% little opening.'”
Reeves recently unveiled his new project, which will see him host a documentary and interview racing legends including Jenson Button and Ross Brawn.
Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story, will tell the story of the independent Brawn team, who entered and won the 2009 World Championship with a team that cost just £1 ($1.30).
Several stills from the series have been released featuring Keanu ahead of Brawn’s premiere on Disney+ later this year.
One photo sees the Matrix star looking awe-struck as he inspects one of the team’s vehicles.
