Kerry Katona’s column: ‘Jude Law has 7 kids but he’s not getting the stick I did with 5’

Kerry Katona has opened up about the stick she has received in the past for being a mum-of-five by three dads.

Writing in her weekly column, Kerry, 42, who recently sparked a debate after revealing how often she changes her bed sheets, discussed Jude Law reportedly becoming a father for the seventh time – and how she feels men are treated differently. Sign up – for free – to see what she has to say.

Jude's brood

Jude Law has reportedly become a father again, making him a dad-of-seven by four mums – I didn’t even realise he had so many kids!

It’s lovely news, but I do think that men are treated differently to women. I doubt he would be labelled as a “7×4 dad”, whereas I’ve received a lot of crap for being a “5×3 mum” in the past. But at the end of the day, I’m the one bringing up the kids, and I’m proud of everything I’ve done for them.

Wishing Tash all the best

I just want to say that I wish my ex-Atomic Kitten bandmate Natasha Hamilton nothing but the best and I’m definitely not “furious” that she’s joined the next series of The Real Housewives Of Cheshire, as reports suggested last week.

I think Natasha will be a brilliant addition to the show. I didn’t move up north to try to get on the show – I moved here to be closer to my mum.

I also think it’s lovely news that Natasha is having her fifth child. Huge congratulations to her. I’ve said it before, but from the bottom of my heart, I want nothing but success, joy and happiness for the Atomic Kitten girls.

Turkey trip

As I write my column, we’re on our family holiday in Turkey. I haven’t been feeling too well – I feel run down and achy – so I’ve been in bed for a few days. The kids are loving it though, and are having loads of fun playing in the swimming pool and eating lots of food at our all-inclusive hotel.

Heidi enjoyed her 16th birthday and she loved all the celebrity video messages I managed to get for her. In the end, I got Conor McGregor, Leigh Francis, Toby Aromolaran, Jake Quickenden, Maura Higgins and Ant Middleton. Her favourite was Conor’s!

We’re over here because my sister Lynsey is having a smile makeover by New Look Smile. We first came in November and we’ve come back so she can get it finished. It’s been a long process and it has been painful for her at times, but it’ll be worth it as the results will look amazing.

The male pill won't work

There were reports last week that it may be possible to develop a male contraceptive pill that could be taken shortly before sex. It’d definitely take the pressure off women, but I personally wouldn’t trust a man to remember to take it. You can’t even trust some men to remember a condom. Pregnancies would probably be at an all-time high!

It could work if you’re in a long-term, trusting relationship, but I don’t think it’s a good idea for casual sex. Plus, it doesn’t protect against STIs.

RIP Nicola

I was very saddened to hear the news that missing Nicola Bulley’s body was found in the River Wyre. It’s absolutely heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and friends.

I think that Lancashire Police handled the investigation appallingly. There was no need for them to tell the world she struggled with alcohol problems relating to the menopause. Her family have now asked for social media sleuths and the press to leave them alone, and I hope that’s respected.
