Report surfaced that the ‘Bodyguard’ actor got a woman working on the set of the Paramount Network series pregnant after his wife Christine Baumgartner filed for divorce.
AceShowbiz –Kevin Costner‘s representative has denied cheating allegations against the actor amid his divorce from estranged wife Christine Baumgartner. Clearing his name, the rep told Yahoo in a statement on Thursday, May 4, “Any suggestion of infidelity on the part of Mr. Costner is absolutely not true.”
While the rep’s statement didn’t particularly address a certain story, it seemed to debunk online rumor that the 68-year-old star impregnated a woman working on the set of his series “Yellowstone“. The claim did not name a specific woman who allegedly got pregnant with the actor’s child, but it has since been debunked.
Sources close to Kevin told TMZ that the gossip is nothing but “total BS.” Similarly, a source told Yahoo that it’s “not true.” Echoing the statement, a representative for “The Bodyguard” star reportedly told Daily Mail that the rumor was “absolutely not true.”
The rumor that Kevin got a “Yellowstone” crew member pregnant surfaced after one Twitter user wrote, “I wonder now, if the drama surrounding Kevin Costner and Yellowstone ‘scheduling,’ was due to the rumor of him potentially getting someone on set pregnant? Was he trying to avoid or is there more to it? Or just a rumor?”
Another user replied to the story of Kevin’s wife Christine filing for divorce with, “So it wasn’t Bentley who got a girl pregnant on the Yellowstone set.. it was Costner.”
Christine filed for divorce on Monday, May 1, citing the usual “irreconcilable differences” as the reason why she decided to pull the plug on their marriage. She asks for joint custody of their three kids, Cayden, 15, Hayes, 14, and Grace, 12, which Kevin echoes in his response filed on Tuesday. She is not asking for spousal support since there is a prenup in place.
Confirming the split, a representative for Kevin said in a statement, “It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action.” The rep added, “We ask that his, Christine’s and their children’s privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time.”
It was later reported that Kevin was “stunned” when Christine filed paperwork as he didn’t expect this. “Kevin was very surprised by Christine’s actions, he obviously doesn’t want the divorce and he would take her back,” a longtime friend of the actor told Page Six. “It’s disappointing, he loves her and he loves his children.”
The friend also defended the “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” star against cheating allegation after pictures surfaced over the weekend of him posing with two ladies at a restaurant. The friend insisted, “There was no issue of cheating at all.”
