Kid Cudi Drops Star Trek-Inspired 'Heaven's Galaxy'

Kid Cudi recently released a new song, “Heaven’s Galaxy,” as part of his one-of-a-kind “Boldly Be” collaboration with Star Trek.

Dot Da Genius produced the Star Trek-inspired track, which sees the rapper reflecting on the vastness of the galaxies beyond.

“Through the galaxies, don’t ask why/ Take the journey y’all, you will find/ In the darkest times, look for light/ See my strength, I’m strong/ Ain’t no fear in me/ Never say I can’t survive/ These worlds through space and time/ I’ll see you, no goodbyes/ I got hope and we fly/ The sun will always shine/ Goin’ high-high-high/ These worlds are yours and mine,” Cudi sings on the chorus.

“Heaven’s Galaxy” arrived alongside the “Star Trek x Kid Cudi: Mirror Mayhem Fortnite” gaming experience. The rapper stars in the game as Captain Skyles, whom players can partner with “on a mission to uncover the source of a sonic anomaly that threatens the peaceful planet Vada,” according to a release.

The newly released track is featured in the game, in addition to previously unheard songs from Cudi’s forthcoming album, INSANO.

The new release is part of the rapper’s collaboration with the classic sci-fi franchise.

“I grew up watching Star Trek with my dad, who is single-handedly responsible for turning me into a fan,” Kid Cudi said in a statement when the collab was announced in September.

“The most important thing to me is to be as authentic as possible,” he added. “Star Trek’s mission has always been about having a hopeful future and when I was first approached about this project it was the perfect marriage of all the things I believe in – being brave and a hero by doing what’s right and fighting for freedom. I can’t wait to share my love of this incredible franchise with the world.”
