King Charles breaks silence after kicking Harry and Meghan out of Frogmore Cottage

King Charles has sent an emotional message to the President of Greece to express his sorrow over an “appalling” train crash in the country.

More than 40 people died after a passenger train and freight train collided near the city of Larissa in northern Greece, in one of the country's worst rail accidents.

The first four carriages of the passenger train were derailed and the first two caught fire, leaving them almost completely destroyed.

King Charles expressed his andQueen Consort Camilla’s sadness over the accident in a letter to Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou.

It was the first time the 74 year old monarch has made a public statement since the revelation that he hadevicted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle from their UK home, Frogmore Cottage.

In theopen letter to Ms Sakellaropoulou, the King wrote: “My wife and I have been most shocked and profoundly saddened by the news of the dreadful accident involving two trains in Northern Greece and would like to express our deepest possible condolences to the families of all those who have so tragically lost their lives.

“During our visits to Greece we have always been struck by the kindness and generosity of the Greek people and our thoughts, prayers and heartfelt sympathy are with all those who have been affected by this appalling tragedy.”

The King signed the message “Charles R.”

Greece holds a special place in the King’s heart as his father, Prince Philip, was born there into Greek and Danish royal families.

King Charles is also reportedly making plans to restore his late father's childhood home in Greece, Tatoi Palace, where the Greek royal family used to spend their summers until the monarchy was overthrown in 1973.

The King’s message came just hours after Harry, 38, and Meghan, 41, confirmed they had been askedto vacate Frogmore Cottage – their home on the Windsor estate that was gifted to them by the lateQueen after they tied the knot in 2018.

According to reports, the King wants theDuke and Duchess of Sussex out of Frogmore Cottage before his Coronation in May.

It was said that the King made the decision shortly after the publication of Harry’s book Spare – with sources claiming that the Duke’s criticisms of his step-mother, the Queen Consort, had been the“last straw”.

It was reported that Frogmore Cottage willinstead be offered to Prince Andrew, 63, after it was revealed theDuke of York isset to be moved from Royal Lodge in Windsor Park, where he has lived since 2003.

The shakeup of royal households is said to have left Meghan and Harry "stunned" whileAndrew is reportedly also against the move.

It comes amid thecontinuing fallout from Harry’s book Spare and with Andrew banned from royal duties over hisconnections to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
