Dawn Butler has told how she kissed Idris Elba as a teenager and told how she could have been his wife in another life.
The Labour MP, 53, cheekily confessed that she could have been in line to have a ‘big romance’ with the Luther actor, 50.
The pair have known each other since they were children as Idris was a regular at her father’s east London bakery and they shared a kiss as teenagers.
Speaking of their nearly-romance, she told The Mirror: ‘Yes, I have kissed Idris Elba, when we were teenagers. It could have been a big romance.
‘Me and my friend Pat got excited because we got on so well and we were very close, we would have such a laugh because he’s so funny.’

‘In another world, I could be married to Idris Elba,’ she quipped.
Dawn went on to tell how she and her friends encouraged Idris to go to America to pursue his acting dream, and he later got his big break on The Wire.
The politician, who is gearing up to release her book A Purposeful Life, said it is like time ‘hasn’t passed’ when she sees her childhood friend Idris now.
She said she last saw the star at a party before the Covid pandemic in Brent Central, which has been her constituency since 2015.
Idris married his wife Sabrina in 2019, and the pair have been enjoying a romantic getaway in recent days.
Actress Sabrina, 35, took to Instagram on Wednesday to share a selection of holiday snaps with her husband.
In one snap, Sabrina made the most of the sunshine as she hit the beach in a brown halterneck bikini and splashed around in the water in a skimpy white two-piece.
In another photo, Idris relaxed under the fairy lights as they enjoyed a romantic evening out.

The couple also headed down to the tennis courts where they stood and watched the sunset.
Sabrina and Idris met at a party in 2017 and wed in an extravagant ceremony two years later.
Despite famously claiming he would never marry again, Idris made a public proposal to Sabrina at a film screening, before tying the knot in Marrakesh in 2019.
Idris shares a daughter Isan with his ex-wife, make-up artist Hanne ‘Kim’ Nørgaard while he also has a son Winston, eight, with former girlfriend Naiyana Garth.
