Levi Davis’ mum Julie has hit out at Spanish police amid theories that her missing rugby star son may have drowned.
Levi has been missing since late October after taking a trip to Barcelona.
The X Factor star, who featured on the celeb series of the show alongside fellow rugby players Thom Evans and Ben Foden to create the band Try Star in 2019, had been visiting pal Richard Squire in Ibiza.
He then told Richard he was going to see friends in Barcelona and caught the ferry over to the city.
In a recent update, police have begun to speculate if Levi, who turned 25 last month, may have drowned after a man was seen in the sea near the Barcelona port sporting the same t-shirt Levi was last seen in.
The port is also where Levi’s passport was found.
The reports were made by a cruise ship worker.
Officers are said to have spoken to four members of the cruise liner, which was docking in Barcelona at 6.30am on October 30, the day after Levi went missing.
Addressing the theories, Julie questioned why the information about the ship crew is only just coming to light several months after Levi’s disappearance.
“I don’t know what to believe anymore,” she continued to tell The Sun.
“I know the Spanish police can be slow but I can’t make head nor tail of it.
“There’s lots of answers to questions that I need to know."
Julia went on to label it as “disheartening” when she gets limited feedback from the Spanish authorities, but they claim they can’t give a lot of information to her as it may jeopardise the case.
The concerned mum also said that “the way the evidence is pointing isn’t good” as it comes up to six months since Levi’s disappearance.
In light of the information given by cruise ship workers, the Spanish coast guard and police are said to have conducted a search near to the location in a bid to locate a body, but there were no traces of Levi.
Another theory about Levi’s disappearance, which police believe isn't voluntary, is that he’s been kidnapped.
A private PI hired by Julie speculated that the rugby star "may have been snatched off a Barcelona street by British kidnappers", she told Mail Online.
As of December, police were offering £10,000 for anyone who could provide viable information to them to help them in their inquiries about Levi and ultimately locate him.
