Caleb demands answers from Nicky and Cathy gets bad news in Emmerdale tonight

There is more secrecy in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale (Tuesday, April 25), following the surprise revelation that Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope) is in love with old ‘friend’ Ally.

We previously met Ally when he arrived in the village to get the lay of the land over what Nicky is up to.

He was surprised to find him engaged to Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), and Nicky squirmed through afternoon drinks at Home Farm during which Ally pointedly wound him up.

It all makes sense now, as the couple are an on/off item and have quite the history.

Nicky is in the middle of a plot with dad Caleb (William Ash) as they strive to snatch Home Farm from Kim Tate (Claire King).

Part of this plan is for Nicky to be close to Gabby, and pretend to be in love with her.

In the wake of his night of passion with Ally, Nicky tonight warns him that this can’t happen again.

Nicky is keen for him to stay away from the village but there’s a real sense that staying apart will be easier said than done.

On edge Caleb wants to know what’s going on with Nicky, especially after his fight with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).

Fearing their plot could be shattered due to the erratic behaviour, Caleb demands to know where Nicky was last night – but will he discover the truth?

Elsewhere, Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling) is hit with bad news, being told that she won’t be granted an access agreement for her studies without an official diagnosis.

As a result, her headteacher suggests that she defers a year, but a gutted Cathy pleads with her to change her mind.

And finally, Faye tells Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) that there’s been a fire at the women’s refuge she supports.

Determined to support the cause, Mary proposes a fundraiser, but not everything is as it seems…

Emmerdale continues on Tuesday April 25 at 7:30pm on ITV.
