Alleged to have been one of the four tourists briefly stopped by the cops for riding scooters through the tunnel, the ‘Old Town Road’ hitmaker luckily does not get detained.
AceShowbiz –Lil Nas X might have come close to experience a run-in with the law in foreign soil. The “Old Town Road” hitmaker, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was reported to have been stopped by Norwegian Police for riding scooter through an Oslo tunnel.
Bringing Nas X’s incident to public attention on Tuesday July 11 was Norwegian newspaper, Dagbladet, per reported by the Associated Press. The outlet mentioned that four American tourists rode electric scooters through an Oslo tunnel, and were stopped by police. Among them was the 24-year-old rapper.
Accordingly, Nas X and the other three were led by a Google Maps route to ride through the 1.1 mile downtown tunnel on Monday, July 10. The police went on to say that all four “used large parts of the roadway.” Police reportedly had to close the six-lane Festning tunnel due to the incident.
Fortunately, Nas and the other three scooter riders did not get any charges and were not detained. The Associated Press noted that the police department stated via Twitter, “They apologized. We have escorted them out.”
Nas X himself was reported by Rolling Stone to have uploaded a series of photos via Instagram capturing his scooter riding session. One of the snaps had a note over it that read, “About to go to jail in Norway.” He followed it up with a picture of him posing with two police officers. Over the picture, he penned, “Nvm they f**k wit my music.”
Nas’ tunnel antics came a few weeks after he got candid about his interests in challenging “traditional ideas of masculinity” as a YSL Beauty ambassador. In a June interview with High Snobriet, he said, “Every time I try something new and push myself outside of my comfort zone, it gives me even more inspiration to push it a little further the next time.”
“YSL is such an iconic brand and I’m happy to be a part of something that is trying to challenge traditional ideas of masculinity,” Nas continued. “I love the ’90s beauty looks and how much that ’90s grunge vibe is coming back.”
