This year's Love Island viewers are understood to have released a flood of Ofcom complaints over Mitchell Taylor's treatment of his co-star and former flame Abi Moores.

It was released today that a total of 913 complaints were made against the 26 year old former gas engineer following claims he was "bullying" the 25 year old YouTuber and air hostess.

An Ofcom spokesman today told press: "Love Island, 25 July 2023, 913 complaints which primarily objected to Mitch’s treatment of Abi and concerns for her welfare."

Mitch had previously coupled up with Abi following Casa Amor but the pair quickly ended up embroiled in a love triangle when new girl Ella B entered the villa and recoupled with the Sheffield lad.

But it was the way that Mitch handled the following weeks on the show that left viewers concerned for Abi's welfare.

Fans have took to social media to share their thoughts on the Abi/Mitch/Ella B love triangle, as they accused him of "milking" the attention he was receiving from both girls.

One wrote: "Mitch is milking it now Abi should just tell him to go have the Ella [eye roll emoji] #LoveIsland" while another added: "Mitch is LOVING this. He's been ignored and unwanted for 6 weeks. He's gona milk this love triangle for all it's worth. #LoveIsland"

A third quipped: "Mitch in a love triangle STILL alters my brain chemistry. Bro hasn’t had a shot at love in six weeks. I’m too used to seeing him living up that free holiday at this point #LoveIsland"

Later in the series, fans begged producers to step in after they fears that Mitch was targeting Abi during the Grafties Awards.

Mitch took to the stage when he was voted winner of 'mad moves', just days after he told ex-love-interest Abi that he wanted to be with her over new romance Ella B.

Whilst accepting the award, Mitch got defensive and ended up shouting at many of his fellow Islanders, leaving his love rival, Scott – Abi's 'friendzoned' partner – to brand him a "d**khead".

Regarding him, one person wrote on Twitter: "Mitch is so nasty, like so so nasty #LoveIsland," whilst another tweeted: "mitch ur not funny #LoveIsland."

Someone else said: "I'm so glad mitch has got his karma and hopefully that finally shuts him up now. #LoveIsland."

Other viewers declared that Abi – who attempted to keep the peace during the altercation – had been 'vindicated' after the Islanders saw Mitch telling her that he wasn't interested in Ella B – his current partner.

"Can the mental health team check on Abi, like she is fully being targeted here. like I’m actually worried," one fan begged.

Another said of the blonde beauty: "Like her or not, she’s being bullied. Ty was hyping Ella B up to interrupt their chat. Made her feel uncomfortable whilst she was laughed at. Tonight she’s constantly getting brought up, told that Scott isn’t into her.

"She has to live with these people. I find it cruel tbf! It’s just unfair the constant bashing from him. he’s clearly bothered by her."
