Love Island winner Davide Sanclimenti, 28, spoke to Express.co.uk about how he has comforted his girlfriend Ekin-Su after she was voted out of Dancing On Ice. The Turkish beauty exited the show last weekend after facing the skate off against EastEnders’ Patsy Palmer.
Following her emotional departure, Davide gushed: “I’m very proud of how she did. I have been following her since the start of the show and I feel like, [even though] the show started in January, she also did three months of training.
“I have seen how much effort she had been putting into the training and I am proud of her even if now she is out.
“She did four amazing performances and I told her that, at the end of the day, it is a show. So, I feel like as long as she enjoyed it and got good memories that’s all that matters.
“She was a bit sad after the first night [after her exit] as is normal, but she is super happy now.”
Davide and Ekin-Su have certainly found the positive in the situation and are now jetting off to the Maldives for a week.
Davide continued: “We are going to be on the plane [on Valentine’s Day]. My original plan was to make dinner for Ekin and surprise her so that will probably be the night before now.
“This is actually going to be the first holiday totally relaxed. The only holiday we have done was the one in Dubai but she had a few days of work.
“So [this time] we are just going to be fully relaxed for a week just getting a tan, eating healthy and training in the gym.”
Davide is also planning on surprising his beau with Lindt’s newly launched Lindor Blood Orange truffles.
He is fronting the brand’s Break for Emergency Bliss campaign and encouraging everyone to indulge a little this Valentine’s Day.
Lindt will also be placing a selection of emergency chocolate boxes in London, Bluewater Kent, and Leeds which contain the new Blood Orange truffles as well as a Heart box with Milk truffles.
In addition, one of the emergency boxes will include a romantic all-inclusive getaway to Sicily for two people.

On why he is fronting the campaign, Davide said: “I am proud to be campaigning with Lindt, not just because it’s an Italian brand, just because it’s chocolate!
“As someone who dashed off to the sun in search for love, I’m thrilled to be part of a campaign that aims to treat those hopeless romantics like me!”
Of course, Davide and Ekin-Su have become one of Britain’s favourite couples after winning Love Island in the summer.
As for the ongoing series in South Africa, Davide says he isn’t watching, but could consider a return to the villa.
He said: “I didn’t watch Love Island before my season, I didn’t watch my season and I didn’t watch this season.
“I often see posts like, ‘Bring these two back in the villa’.
“If it is with Ekin, I will go back!”
