Love Island’s Faye Winter has ‘no words’ as she loses ‘longest childhood friend’

Faye Winter has admitted she has "no words" as she's sadly had to say goodbye to her "longest childhood friend" after her family dog has passed away.

The former Love Island star, who rose to fame due to her explosive relationship with ex-beau Teddy Soares during her stint in the dating show villa in 2021, expressed her immense sadness online.

The reality TV star, 28, shared an adorable throwback snap of the family pup enjoying a day on the beach as she broke the news of the 17-year-old dog's passing.

Faye opened up about how her "heart is broken" as she dedicated an emotional caption to the dog.

Faye broke the news of her 17-year-old family dog's passing with her 1.2million Instagram followers on Saturday.

She wrote: "Yesterday we said goodbye to my longest childhood friend of 17 years. You would of been 18 next month, and what an incredible 17 years you gave us.

"You never wanted for anything, you came to us terrified of men and became out dad's best friend.

"You loved unconditionally and gave everything right up until the end. Our hearts are broken and anyone that knows our family counts you as a part of it.

"We love you Blondie, go chase them bunny's darling."

She finished the tear-wrenching Instagram story with a message of thanks.

Faye added: "As a family we just want to say thank you to Chris and Natasha @vetsforpetsuk in Newton Abbot, their kindness and support over the last years and in her final moments has been unmatched.

"We have no words."

Faye's sad news comes just a month after the reality star thanked her other, new Golden Retriever puppy Bonnie for helping her get through a public break-up as well as her move from London to Devon.

"I never would have gotten through the stuff I have without her," she told OK! in an exclusive interview.

"Everything else in my whole entire life changed and she was my constant. She was the one there when I was crying. So we've built this incredible bond. I owe her absolutely everything.

"When the judgment was pouring in, there was so much going on around me and I had to move down to Devon, still trying to work out this world – she was always there with a waggy tail and a beautiful, happy face."

Faye has always had a strong connection with dogs and she's even a campaign star for Guide Dogs UK.

Back in July, the former Islander, who says her new Golden Retriever pup has helped her through heartache and is her "reason for being", celebrated Bonnie's first birthday.

Faye organised colourful balloons arches in the garden alongside a backdrop which read "Bonnie's 1st birthday" .

Special doggy butterfly cupcakes and biscuits were made on the dog's behalf, including a birthday cake.
