Mary Berry warns ‘don’t be fooled’ as she discusses Princess Kate

Great British Bake Off: Amos is eliminated

Mary Berry has revealed to not “be fooled” by the Princess of Wales as the former Great British Bake Off judge dicussed her new BBC Two show, Mary Makes It Easy, which airs later this year.

In an interview with The Daily Mail, Mary spoke about one of her famous fans who is none other than Kate Middleton.

The Princess of Wales apparently said that one of Prince Louis’ first words was Mary’s name due to her cookbooks in their kitchen.

“She is as bright as a button. And don’t you be fooled, she’s very competitive,” Mary admitted.

“She’s brilliant. A wonderful ambassador for Britain.”

This is not the first time that Dame Mary has openly shared her admiration for the Royal Family.

Last year ahead of the Platinum Jubilee, she appeared in the BBC’s royal documentary, ‘The Queen: 70 Glorious Years’.

During one clip, Mary touches upon the idea of Prince William and Princess Kate becoming King and Queen.

“I thought, one day William will be King, Kate will be Queen,” she recalled when watching their 2011 wedding.

“How fortunate to have such a modern couple with tradition.”

The Great British Bake Off might be adored by thousands across the nation, but it is also reportedly watched by the country’s monarch.

According to Hello! Magazine, King Charles and Queen Camilla told a former Bake Off contestant that they were fans of the Channel 4 programme.

2016 semi-finalist Selasi Gbormittah took to X, formally known as Twitter, after he met The Queen Consort at an event at St James’s Palace.

He said: “Ahead of HRHs visit to Ghana, The Gambia & Nigeria, HRHs hosted British West Africans. All I can say is that, they’re both fans of #GBBO.”

The Great British Bake Off resumes on Channel 4 at 8pm.
