Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are giving us a peek into their trip to Europe last month. On Oct. 3, photographer Misan Harriman shared two never-before-seen photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the One Young World Summit in the UK on Sept. 5. “The Duke & Duchess of Sussex moments before attending the opening ceremony of @OneYoungWorld last month,” Harriman tweeted alongside two photos of the couple holding hands.
Markle and Harry returned to Europe in early September to attend a handful of charity events, including an Invictus Games kickoff in Germany and the Well Child Awards in the UK. Unfortunately, they had to pull out of the Sept. 8 awards ceremony after news broke that Queen Elizabeth II was under “medical supervision” and doctors became “concerned for her health.” Later that day, Buckingham Palace released a statement confirming her death at the age of 96.
The couple ended up extending their trip to attend the queen’s funeral processions, where they presented a united front with the rest of the royal family. However, their kids, Archie, 3, and Lilibet, 1, were not in attendance. Markle’s “Archetypes” podcast also went on a brief hiatus in honor of the queen.
