Michael Jackson’s sons Blanket and Prince make rare outing on his 65th birthday

Prince Jackson defends Michael Jackson’s ‘King of Pop’ label

Michael Jackson’s sons Prince, 26, and Blanket, 21, (real name Prince Michael Jackson II), were seen at the One by Cirque du Soleil show, dedicated to their dad, on Tuesday night, on what would’ve been the late singer’s 65th birthday.

In a rare public outing together, the pair were seen mingling and posing for pictures with guests at Las Vegas’ Sin City’s Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

The brothers also took the time to sign autographs and at one point Prince accepted a drawing of their late father given to him by a fan.

Those at the venue were there to see a production based on the King of Pop’s music which features acrobatics, dancers and synchronized choreography.

On the evening, Prince appeared to be in good spirits laughing and smiling in various snaps, while Michael’s youngest son seemed a little more reserved.

For their attire, both kept things casual with Prince opting for a grey T-shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap, while Blanket sported a linen black shirt, matching bottoms and leather shoes.

Michael shares Prince and daughter Paris, 25, with his ex-wife Debbie Rowe, who he was married to for four years.

His youngest son Blanket, who changed his name to Bigi in 2015, was conceived via surrogate, although the identity of the woman is unknown.

He got his nickname following Michael’s 2006 infamous moment of dangling him as a baby from a balcony, while wrapped in a blanket.

The shocking moment sparked worldwide controversy at the time and he later branded his actions a “terrible mistake”.

He added to BBC News: “I got caught up in the excitement of the moment. I would never intentionally endanger the lives of my children.”

Meanwhile, Paris, who is currently on tour with her band, was not at the event but paid tribute to her dad while on stage.

In a video posted last night, the singer addressed criticism about why she didn’t post about his birthday on social media.

She revealed how Michael didn’t like celebrating his birthday and didn’t even want his children to know when it was.

With this, Paris insisted she respected his wishes and went on shut down people who “lose their minds” over her lack of social media posts about his special day.

In 2020, Prince expressed how proud he believes his father would’ve been of his and his siblings’ achievements.

Speaking on This Morning, he said: “I like to think he’d be very proud of the milestones we [his children] have made both individually and collectively as siblings.

“At the same time he was always pushing us to be better and do better in all aspects of our lives.

“I can always hear him in the back of my head saying, ‘What’s next? What’s better? What’s bigger than this?’”

With a smile, he added: “He would be proud but he’d want us to be laser focused on the next steps of our lives.”
