‘My friend Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae have a true love story,’ says Peter Andre

In his exclusive column with new, Peter Andre paid his congratulations to Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury after the loved-up pair recently got engaged.

Citing them as a "true love story", Peter revealed that he is so happy for his "friend" Tommy and fiancee Molly.

He said: "It’s lovely to hear the news that Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury are engaged. Tommy is a friend and I’m so happy for him.

I always say they’ve shown that Love Island really can work. They went into the villa, met, fell in love and have stayed together.

"It’s a true love story, and their proposal video was fab. Many happy years, guys."

The singer and dad-of-four's kind words come after the Love Island stars shared the magical moment when Tommy popped the question to Molly-Mae.

Taking to Instagram, Molly-Mae, 24, posted a gorgeous black-and-white video, showing her holding their daughter Bambi as Tommy, 24, got down on one knee.

She penned: "Forever. 23/07/23" with an engagement ring and a crying emoji.

In the clip, Molly-Mae wears a white jumpsuit as she walks towards a cliff where Tommy, in a suit, is waiting with Bambi surrounded by hundreds of roses.

As he gets down on one knee and asks that all important question, Molly-Mae can be seen overcome with emotion in floods of happy tears.

The pair – who met on Love Island in 2019 and have been inseparable ever since – have kept fans patiently waiting for their inevitable engagement to happen.

Now, Molly has revealed that boxer Tommy, who's also 24, faked a 'work' trip to keep the proposal a secret from her, even going so far as to making up a works event for her to attend complete with fake emails and invites.

Sharing pictures from their special day, Molly-Mae shed some light on what happened as she wrote: "Just before we were leaving for a 'brand event' we'd both been invited to… fake invites, fake emails, notes in the hotel room from the brand, everyone playing along so unbelievably well…

"I've never known a surprise to be pulled off like this. I was COMPLETELY and utterly fooled.

"It was only when we pulled up to the 'event' and Tommy jumped out of the car and ran off and I was handed a letter that I realised all was not what it seemed."

Once Molly arrived at the secret location, she soon realised something was up and she gave her fans more details, branding the proposal as "perfect."

She wrote: "I walked down a very steep hill to find these two waiting for me…. AND @thisisruthanne singing my favourite song.

"He couldn't have made the moment any more perfect. Flying my glam team over, my videographers, my favourite singer, I just can't get over it."
