Nella Rose’s feelings ‘not genuine’ about Grace Dent’s I’m A Celebrity exit

I’m A Celeb: Grace Dent leaves the jungle on medical grounds

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! star Nella Rose didn’t show “totally sincere” feelings towards Grace Dent following her departure from the jungle this week, according to a body language expert.

The Masterchef star left the camp on medical grounds after being voted to take on the latest Bushtucker Trial with Josie Gibson.

After her exit, Nick Pickard read out a letter from Grace explaining why she left and thanked her co-stars for the experience.

The moment prompted her campmates to send her a message aloud, including Nella, who said Grace was her “rock”.

Now, body language expert Darren Stanton, on behalf of Betfair Bingo, has claimed the YouTube star’s gestures were different from her words.

He said: “Nella’s reaction to Grace leaving wasn’t particularly genuine. She said she was upset, but her non verbal gestures proved otherwise. When someone is upset, they don’t tend to vocalise that they’re feeling sadness.

“Instead, you can sense it from their body language, they may cry or it’s apparent in their facial expressions.

“Nella didn’t show any of that in regards to Grace leaving.

“Although she was sad and said Grace was her rock, I don’t think her emotions were totally sincere compared to Nick and Danielle [Harold].”

In her letter, Grace wrote: “My Dear campmates, I’m so sorry to let you down. I have left the camp for medical reasons.

“My heart is broken, I have loved and enjoyed getting to know you all. You’ve held me up and it’s been a pleasure being your friend through this experience. Leaving you all at this stage will be one of the saddest things in my life.

“I love you all. Your friend, Miss Grace Dent.”

Nella previously admitted to Grace that she would walk out of the jungle if she wanted to, but as long as she wasn’t first.

She made the admission while discussing Jamie Lynn Spears potentially leaving due to missing her children.

Nella told Grace: “If Jamie left yesterday I would have been right behind her… I’m leaving. I just don’t want to be the first.”

“I’ve never, ever in my life started something and finished it. Ever.”

She went on to say: “I always quit, or I always sign on short term or if I don’t like it I can leave… this is the one thing I said I’m going to try and stick it through but I can already see myself… if I get in my head too much.”

Asked if she ran the minute “things start to pick up,” Nella said she was “obsessed” with controlling her happiness after being “put in a lot of situations” she had “no control over” when she was younger.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs daily at 9pm on ITV.
