OK! columnist Judi Love’s tribute to Queen Elizabeth: ‘She led with incomparable dignity’

Comedian and OK!'s weekly columnist Judi Love has issued a tribute message to The Royal Family following the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who sadly passed away at Balmoral Castle yesterday.

"Yesterday was a truly emotional day after learning of the death of HM Queen Elizabeth aged 96," Judi says. "She was an amazing women that led with incomparable dignity, and her support and love for both her country and her own family will never be forgotten.

"She sacrificed so much for this important duty – I’m even reminded of her being sat alone at the funeral of her husband Prince Philip last year in the midst of the pandemic.

"Her presence in this world will be sorely missed. In this difficult and heartbreaking time, I’m sending my love, wishes and sympathies to The Royal Family for their loss."

Senior members of the Royal family gathered after the Queen's doctors became concerned about her health earlier yesterday morning.

All of Her Majesty's children – including Prince Charles – as well as her grandson and now heir to the throne, Prince William, and his brother Prince Harry – travelled to Aberdeen's Balmoral Castle after doctors placed her under medical supervision.

The Queen died peacefully at her Scottish estate, where she'd spent many of her summer vacations.

Now-King Charles III last night made a statement, telling the public that the death of his beloved mother was a "moment of great sadness" for him and his family, and that their loss would be "deeply felt" around the world.

His statement also read: "We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished sovereign and a much-loved mother.

"I know her loss will be deeply felt throughout the country, the realms and the Commonwealth, and by countless people around the world."

During the period of mourning, he said he and his family would be "comforted and sustained by our knowledge of the respect and deep affection in which the Queen was so widely held".

King Charles returned to London today with his wife and and now-Queen consort, Camilla. Mourners gathered in their thousands outside the gates of Buckingham Palace this afternoon, as our new King greeted the public and admired the flowers left in memory of our beloved Queen. He is expected to address the nation later this evening.
