Piers Morgan has thrown shade at the BBC after Director General Tim Davie revealed that an unnamed BBC presenter accused paying a teenger £35,000 for pictures wasn’t spoken to until seven weeks after the claim was made.
Speaking to press today, the BBC boss also revealed the corporation has paused its investigation into the well-known star at the request of the police.
Following Tim’s speech this afternoon, Piers took to Twitter to shade the corporation.
In view of his 8.5 million followers, he wrote: “And this was all while the same BBC was reporting extensively on the Schofield scandal at ITV.”
The former Good Morning Britain presenter was referring to Phillip’s open confession that he had an affair with a younger runner during his time at This Morning.
The 61-year-old said their relationship was “not illegal but unwise”.
