PnB Rock Finally Laid to Rest in Philadelphia After His Family Faced Trouble Getting His Body

Previously, the rapper’s family’s request to bring his deceased body to his hometown as soon as possible was rejected by the medical examiner’s office as his death is part of a larger homicide investigation.

AceShowbizPnB Rock has finally been laid to rest a week after his death. The late 30-year-old rapper was buried in his hometown Philadelphia after his family faced trouble getting his deceased body.

The hip-hop star, whose real name is Rakim Hasheem Allen, was laid to rest on Wednesday, September 21. Among those who attended the funeral service was XXXTENTACION‘s mother.

Earlier this week, it was unveiled that PnB Rock’s family had trouble getting his body. Even the process to get his deceased body required police intervention, per TMZ report. Multiple sources told the news outlet that the rapper’s mother wanted her son’s body right away because of religious reasons, but the medical examiner’s office wouldn’t give it up because his death is part of a larger homicide investigation.

PnB’s brother, PnB Meen, also stated in a since-deleted social media post that his family was having issues with the medical examiner’s office. “We been having trouble getting my brother’s [body] back to Philadelphia,” he wrote via Instagram.

“The [city] of Los Angeles claiming they have some type of law going against ours as Muslims. Now I have no clue when his Janazah. It’s not right yo,” PnB Meen explained. “It’s going on a week. Prayers up. I got you big bro, and ya daughters.”

Prior to PnB Meen’s social media post, his mother left Philly and jetted off to Los Angeles after she was notified that her son had been shot and killed at Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant on Monday, September 12. She reportedly headed straight to the medical examiner’s office to identify her son’s body and request for him to be released to the family.

PnB Rock’s mother demanded that the rapper’s body be handed over immediately due to religious reasons, as PnB Meen had stated. According to their beliefs, burial rituals should take place within 72 hours.

More recently, authorities were convinced that the incident could be a “planned execution.” TMZ reported on Wednesday that LAPD is looking into past feuds the Philadelphia native had that might have been a factor in his murder. While it was initially believed robbery was the motive, police sources told the outlet that any past issues the “Selfish” hitmaker have had are being examined as well, with his ties to Atlanta being looked at.

Police are reportedly even combing through PnB Rock’s lyrics to find any clues that may lead to something solid. They are still trying to track down the vehicle the suspect(s) used to flee the scene as well.

LAPD Chief Michel Moore previously announced at least two assailants were involved in the tragic shooting. “We do believe that there are a minimum of two of them. One was driving the vehicle, letting off his passenger, and that passenger went into the store, into the restaurant,” he said.

In the meantime, LAPD Captain Kelly Muniz explained that when the suspected shooters entered the Roscoe’s, they immediately pulled out a firearm and demanded jewelry from PnB Rock. When he refused, they shot the rapper multiple times. The rap artist was pronounced dead at around 1:29 P.M. after he was rushed to a nearby hospital.
