Naga Munchetty apologised on her BBC Radio 5 Live programme yesterday after she was forced to push back the airing of a recorded interview. The BBC star, 47, explained to listeners that an interview with author Rebecca Humphries would not be aired as it needed to be edited further before being played.

Early on in her show, Naga promised that she would play her interview with author Rebecca Humphries.
The writer split from Strictly Come Dancing contestant Seann Walsh in 2018 after he was pictured sharing a kiss with pro dancer, Katya Jones.
However, BBC presenter Naga admitted there was more work to be done on the editing side of things before Rebecca’s chat was played.
Naga told her listeners: “Now, I did say that I was going to bring you the interview I did with the actor and writer Rebecca Humphries.
“She’s just published her first book, it’s all about self-acceptance and finding your self-worth after a relationship, a very public relationship breakdown.
“It’s a very, very powerful interview and as happens with radio we have these very long interviews and we edit them and we’ve been working on that,” she explained.
Naga went on: “I spoke to Rebecca and finished talking to her about quarter to 11.
“We want to do this justice so we want to get a really good edit for you,” she added.
Consequently, Naga told how it was going to be delayed.
She said: “We’re going to bring ito you next week rather than today.
“I promised something, I can’t deliver it, I apologise.
“But it is worth it and you will hear it next week,” she reassured listeners.
It comes after Naga sent her support to her BBC so-star Jon Kay after he was forced to miss his first day of a new job due to health woes.
Jon was forced to miss his first day as Dan Walker’s official replacement on BBC Breakfast after confirming he had tested positive for Covid.
Confirming the news to his 45,000 Twitter followers, Jon shared a photograph of a positive lateral flow test.
He penned in the caption: “Aaaagh! Finally got me. Gutted not to be able to start the new job officially @BBCBreakfast on Monday.
“I guess working from home isn’t really an option @BBCFrediani [BBC Breakfast editor]?”
Naga got in touch soon after and shared her sadness that Jon had to miss his first day.
She wrote: “Argh! Hope you’re not feeling too poorly x.”
Naga Munchetty hosts her show on Radio 5 Live from 11am to 1pm from Monday to Wednesdays.
