Robbie Williams ‘amazed’ he no longer craves intimacy with strangers

Robbie Williams has dropped some right gems in his time, but his perspective on marriage, sex and singledom might be his best yet.

Perhaps no one was more shocked than Robbie, 48, himself when, after years of being one of pop’s most eligible bachelors, he finally settled down with actress Ayda Field in 2006, with the two going on to marry in 2010.

He’s now a happily married man with four children, sharing Theodora, 10, Charlton, seven, Coco, three and Beau, two, with Ayda.

The mere existence of his settled down life is still a novelty for Robbie, who has noticed a change in sex drive since choosing monogamy.

‘[It’s] amazing for somebody built like me – to put it in vulgar terms – a sh**ger. She gives me everything I want,’ the Angels singer explained.

He continued to Grazia magazine: ‘I don’t mean sex-wise. My thing in the 90s was sex with strangers, I didn’t know whether I’d be able to give that up. I was saying to her last night, it’s really special that we’re around a lot of really good looking people, all the way through the summer – and I feel no longing to be up to the nefarious stuff.

‘She’s really empathetic, really kind, incredibly smart and very, very funny – and I trust her. The thing with sex with other people is very much like cocaine. I’m not looking for cocaine anymore and therefore I don’t find it.’

Robbie, who has been doing his recent interviews naked in bed for some reason, recently revealed the secret to his happy marriage with Ayda.

‘It is a laugh-a-minute, she is very funny, she is, her job was being a comedian, so she does make me laugh, I annoy her, she annoys me too, it’s just one of those relationships where we flip between you know, the two things of “you’re hilarious!” to “I want to kill you now!”,’ Robbie said on Heart Breakfast earlier this month.

The former Take That singer is currently gearing up for the release of his new album XXV, which is out on September 9.
