Ryan Reynolds is one of the many people sending their condolences to footballer Ben Tozer, who recently announced the death of his father.
On Monday, the athlete took to Twitter to confirm his dad’s passing which came just days after a cancer diagnosis.
The captain also used the opportunity to warn others about the dangers of not acting quickly enough after noticing potential symptoms of cancer.
Tozer revealed his father, Keith had been diagnosed on Saturday and as doctors informed them the disease was treatable, he underwent brain surgery on Sunday but tragically died on Monday.
In his tweet, the 33-year-old shared: “On Saturday, I was told my Dad has Leukaemia but it’s treatable.

“On Sunday night, he required a brain operation, which went positively, then last night the unthinkable happened. Sadly, all of this happened because he had left it too late.”
He continued: “Unknowingly, he was masking the fact he was [in] complete agony. ‘Go and get checked’ we regularly said. He was just too scared of what it could be.
“Thank you, Dad. Our last words together will live with me forever. I love you. I hope we have all done you proud.”
Among the many fans flooding his comments with well-wishes and condolences was Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds.

The Deadpool star tweeted: “Gut-wrenching. Sending so much love to the Tozer family.”
While Wrexham’s official Twitter account added: “So sorry to hear this. Our thoughts are with you and your family.”
Following the purchase of the football club Ryan Reynold and Rob McElhenney have received overwhelming support from the town and its fans.
Even its previous owners, the Wrexham Supporters Trust were 98 percent in favour of the sale.
The process was completed in February of 2021 and the entire sale was documented in the 2022 FX documentary, Welcome to Wrexham.
As well as new fans and the new spotlight for the team, with Tozer playing a key part of the crew as the central defender.
Wrexham will kick off the new season on August 5 with a home game against Milton Keynes Dons.
This summer the club will also take part in a number of high-profile friendly matches against Manchester United and Chelsea in the USA.
